The primary role of the Maintenance Mechanic is to provide competent & effective Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance support to the Plant and Facility operations in a SAFE manner. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, adjusting and repairing of plant machinery to meet industry standards while ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies, including but not limited to USDA, OSHA, FDA, EPA and Local Government. The position will require a flexible schedule focusing on preventive maintenance and timely repairs.
The duties and responsibilities of a maintenance mechanic include LOTO, GMP and food safety knowledge with an emphasis on maintaining processing systems, equipment and machinery:
Install, and/or troubleshoot and repair Manufacturing equipment such as assembly, conveyors, forming, mixing (Oven operations is a plus);
Follow work instructions and OSHA safety rules, including the use of all PPE and other safety equipment in an industrial environment;
LOTO, must be able to work safely with electricity and have experience with 3-phase 480 VAC circuits;
Read and use blueprints, schematics, maintenance manuals, required tools, and various types of standard testing equipment;
Diagnose problems, replace and repair parts, detect and replace defective items, test and make final adjustments for high speed production equipment;
Maintain equipment in accordance with diagrams and manufacturers?? specifications, while following preventative maintenance work orders and scheduled PM??S;
Generate work orders and parts request;
Use some machine shop, and other related machines as required to repair parts or fabricate modifications;
Complete work orders and PMs and the documentation for that work;
Use mechanical and pneumatic processes, including cylinders and glue machines, date coders;
Operate equipment such as forklifts, scissors lift, and other appropriate equipment;
Maintain current GMP, Safety, Food Safety, & technical knowledge by actively participating in training.
Working hours: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
A high school diploma or its equivalent is required;
Complete working knowledge of the manufacturing process, typically resulting from a minimum of five years' experience in related jobs;
Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an experienced level maintenance mechanic, including pipefitting, electrical controls and troubleshooting of control circuits, knowledge of 3 phase 480 and 240 volts ac;
Ability to work other shifts if required and flexibility to work overtime;
Ability to follow manufacturing specifications and schematics;
Electrical knowledge and packing machinery experience a plus;
Possess a full complement of the necessary hand and power tools to support an industrial manufacturing plant;
Experience with Industrial Electrical circuits including 480 vac down to 5vdc (PLC and VFD is a plus) sensors and motor control;
Stainless Steel welding;
Ability to multitask, prioritize item and be self-motivated.?
Climb ladders and bins;
Maneuver in tight spaces;
Ability to lift 50+ lbs. Repetitively;
Differentiate between colors;
Work in extreme temperature conditions (hot or cold);
