Our client is looking for a knowledgeable Lead to serve as the eCommerce & Small Parcel team lead within the distribution center. Provide guidance and assistance to coworkers in performing assigned tasks. Identify and report technical and/or personnel problems to management.
1st shift Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
*may include some weekends or 2nd shift coverage during peak seasons
-Provide indirect supervision for order assembly, replenishment, order accuracy, loading, bill of lading, and packaging within eCommerce and Small Parcel.
-Assist with moving and preparing packages, supplies, and equipment.
-Review, record, allocate, and release production orders; ensure production orders are complete and accurate in both the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
-Coordinate with leadership and communicate work assignments.
-Serve as the primary point-of-contact to carriers for outgoing shipments.
-Identify appropriate storage/holding location for incoming materials and products.
-Maintain documentation and records, and produce written reports, in accordance with policies and procedures.
-Identify and document shipment discrepancies; issue corrections.
-Conduct physical audit and inventory counts; identify and resolve count discrepancies; evaluate the cause for discrepancies and address to mitigate reoccurrence.
-Ensure physical audit and inventory counts are completed on schedule; coordinate with other departments as necessary.
-Ensure packing and distribution standards are maintained; keep team informed of daily quota requirements to meet business needs.
-Serve as a trainer to new and current Team Members; answer questions and provide guidance; provide equipment training.
-Serve as a safety champion and promote the use of safe work habits and equipment; conduct regular visual safety inspection of forklifts and other bulk handling equipment.
-Lead the day-to-day activities of the team. Provide guidance to members of the department, performing those responsibilities in accordance with the established policies and applicable laws. Other duties as deemed -necessary.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
-Knowledge of distribution/warehousing standards.
-Knowledge of small parcel shipping methods and requirements (i.e. FedEx and UPS).
-Proficiency using a Personal Computer (PC) to include Microsoft Word and Outlook.
-Proficiency using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform and/or Warehouse Management System (WMS).
-Good communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
-Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse environment and across the Company.
-High school diploma or equivalent
-2 years of shipping/receiving experience, preferably in the consumer products industry
-Valid license/certificate to operate a forklift.
