We have a 6 month contract opportunity for a Security Analyst (Incident Response and Analysis) in Roseville, CA.

Job Description:

Cyber Security

- Analyze and correlate log and event information that may increase security-related risks to the client

- Assist Senior Cyber Security Analysts (SCSA) in review of threat, vulnerability, and system event data

- Provide analysis reports to SCSA to aid in threat investigations

- Provide support to other IS Departments and business units on security-related issues and

- Contribute to the overall plan associated with the security dashboards and scorecards to inform CISO and SH IS and business leaders of information security related risks

- Apply technical security expertise, skills, and knowledge towards the resolution of incident response issues that may negatively impact the confidentiality, availability and/or integrity of SH IS Resources

- May perform investigation and resolution of security issues across the enterprise

Security Training and Awareness

- Assist in the Cyber Security research and development in order to ensure remains up to date with current Cyber Security practices and methodologies

- In collaboration with the Senior Cyber Security Supervisor and Cyber Security Manager, provide security awareness education to staff members as appropriate

Policies and Procedures

- Assist in identifying, developing and recommending security policy related documents and advisories

- Review technical information security standards, criteria, guidelines and procedures to support business initiatives

Research and Analysis

- Conduct technical security-related research and analysis and translate the results into meaningful input to the Information Security program

- Remain technically current on threats and vulnerabilities

- Remain technically current of new technologies through reading, seminars, workshops, and vendor information


- Knowledge of common enterprise applications, e-mail, web, cloud, client/server applications

- Process oriented individual excelling in a team environment

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


- Knowledge of information systems security concepts and current information security trends and practices including security processes and methods

- General knowledge of Federal and State IS security and privacy-related regulatory requirements and laws

- General knowledge regarding NIST, HIPAA, FIPS, and other recognized industry security standards and best practices

- General understanding of DLP and DLP technologies

- Understanding of the lifecycle of a network threat and network vulnerability exploitation in a healthcare environment

- Working understanding of the anatomy of an attack


- General understanding of using Microsoft windows workstation and server, Unix/Linux and network OS's

- Proven ability to use Internet Technologies including DNS, routing, SMTP, HTTP, DHCP, and FTP etc.

- Familiarity in a command line environment

- Written/verbal interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with a broad and diverse group of peers, users, and executives

- Proven ability to prioritize work while multi-tasking on assigned work.

- Ability to perform and conduct Incident Response and participate in security incident and post incident response process

- Ability to break down highly complex technical topics into language and diagrams understandable to a wide audience
