BS in Electrical Engineering, required, MS preferred.
*Experience / Qualifications
-Minimum 7 years of experience in switch mode power supply design required.
-7+ years hardware design for DC-DC & AC-DC power supplies (10W - 500W range) with output voltages typically ranging from 1V - 100V preferred.
-Extensive knowledge of high frequency switching power supply topologies, and control architectures (including Fly-Back, Forward, Buck-Boost, etc) for avionics where small size and weight are key design drivers preferred.
-Specific power conversion design skills include: high frequency magnetic design, power conversion circuit design and analysis, circuit simulation, layout considerations, feedback control theory, and EMC compliance preferred.
-Strong familiarity with avionics power input requirements preferred (MIL-STD-704 & RTCA/DO-160 Section 16)
-Capability to perform analysis using a variety of analytical techniques and expertise with simulation tools required (Pspice, Mathcad, MATLAB, Excel, etc.)
-Strong written and oral communication skills required with ability to:
?prepare and present technical information at design reviews.
?prepare design verification and qualification test procedures and reports
-Knowledge of standard lab equipment operation to perform design verification and circuit testing required; capability to direct electronics lab technicians in development and troubleshooting of power supply designs
-Requires US citizenship due to export control (under ITAR rules)
