Technical Project Manager

Our client is looking for a Technical Project Manager / BSA / Analyst for a direct-hire or contract to hire opportunity in West Sacramento, CA.

Performance Expectations:

Identify and manage expectations of key stakeholders. Key stakeholders include personnel who have a vested interest in the deliverables of the project as well as staff who can significantly influence the outcome or perception of a project.

Collect, distill and document business and technical requirements. Write and gain concurrence on project scope statements. Manage projects to meet expectations outlined in the scope statement.

Develop and manage project budgets and schedules. Schedules must contain and deliver regular milestones. Project spend, and execution is expected to be within 5% of budgets and programs 90% of the time.

Identify and manage project risks. Develop contingency plans for significant risks. Develop mitigation plans for substantial risks. In the event of a materialized risk, communicate the risk, the action plan to address the threat and any impact the chance will have on the project.

Manage vendors. Together with IT technical team, set expectations including, but not limited to, makes, models, software titles, part numbers, version numbers, quantities, delivery date and delivery location. Ensure appropriate materials are delivered as expected and communicated appropriately.

Develop and execute a communication plan keeping all critical stakeholders informed of project progress, updates, issues, and completion of milestones and overall projects.

Identify issues early. Mitigate and communicate where possible. Escalate when necessary.

Ensure project plans account for technology adoption including, but not limited to training and messaging to system users.

Ensure project plans account for support needs including but not limited to access control, service request and approval processes, training of the service desk, training of administrators and documentation of known issues.

General Responsibilities:

Gather requirements, assumptions, and dependencies and document them in a standard project scope document. Gain concurrence with all key stakeholders on project scope.

Develop and manage project budgets and schedules.

Communicate project status.

Accountability:

Deliver projects on time, on budget and on a scope.

Update critical stakeholders on project objectives, deliverables, and progress promptly.

Required Skills:

Proven ability to deliver projects on time and on the budget using the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) framework.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to identify, track and manage details.

Proven ability to plan and facilitate productive meetings.

Proven ability to identify and manage conflict.

Educations/Experience:

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or similar technical field

· Four (4) years' experience managing projects are lasting six (6) months or more.

· Demonstratable completion of academic coursework covering the majority of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).

· Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification preferred.

Other Duties

· May require minimal travel including, but not limited to ALL locations including Woodland plant, Irwindale office, Adelanto plant, Fontana plant and job sites.
