CMS Development Manager

The Digital Technology Team is responsible for the development and support of our Client's branded and E-Commerce websites globally. In addition, the team is also responsible for relevant Enterprise Web Application Development and Enterprise Systems Integration projects.

This role will be responsible for managing a team of developers on the Acquia Drupal platform, owning both CMS and front-end development tasks. You'll be working in a greenfield CMS launch, building out our new technology stack and driving innovation and quality. The CMS Development Manager will report to the Director of Application Development.

Essential Duties:

  • Technical leadership and functional management of employee and contractor development resources
  • Technical leadership for projects and programs, partnering with product owners, business stakeholders, and QA to ensure deliverables meet all project needs
  • Provide development estimates and project plans for development efforts
  • Prioritize team member career growth and training
  • Set and uphold development process and coding standards based on best practices
  • Manage vendor relationships and vendor deliverables
  • Perform technical interviews and make hiring decisions
Key Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of large scale, distributed, web application development
  • 3+ years of technical lead experience
  • Proven experience managing developers on a CMS platform
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant fields (Computer Science, Engineering) preferred
  • Ability to work without supervision, managing both employee and contractor resources
  • Ability to present in front of cross functional audiences and communicate with senior management
  • Strong web development experience with PHP, HTML, CSS, JS, AJAX, React
  • Strong relational database / SQL knowledge
  • Experience with web application design and analysis, design patterns, and object oriented design
  • Exposure to AGILE development practices in a fast pace environment
  • Proficiency with git and source control workflows
  • Proven ability to establish effective, professional working relationships with coworkers
  • Commitment to quality and operational excellence
  • Ability to create design documentation, architecture diagrams, and business user documentation, with a strong attention to detail
Preferred experience:

  • Experience with progressive decoupled CMS and modern JavaScript web components on Drupal
  • Experience with headless commerce, API driven lookups to the commerce engine
  • Experience with multiple DAM systems, DAM integrations with CMS
  • Drupal certifications
  • Experience with Acquia Cloud's solutions, including managed Drupal 8 and Acquia Lift
  • React development experience
