Sr. System Engineer (Windows/O365)

The Senior System Engineer position is an excellent opportunity for someone who has strong experience in maintaining operating systems, infrastructure systems, and management systems with heavy focus in Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server and Exchange.

The duties of an Infrastructure Senior Systems Engineer include the installation, configuration, and daily maintenance of company's hardware, operating systems, and Enterprise Applications. This role will be responsible for providing Tier-2 and Tier-3 support and coordinating with the vendor support for server related issues (e.g., MS Exchange, Active Directory, and Server OS). In addition, the role will oversee the activities of any technical contract resources as needed.


  • Establish / maintain the architecture of the Microsoft Active Directory, Office 365, and Exchange 2013 along with other Windows server environments.
  • Provision Windows 2012 and 2016 server environments.
  • Monitor / Support Windows 2008 and 2012 server environments.
  • Administer / Troubleshoot Enterprise applications, for example Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange 2013, Office 365 etc.

    • Administer mail box access, permissions, rights, quotas, cleanups.
    • Administer and create users, groups and profiles, user management including adding, deleting, modifying, auditing and assigning rights to the user accounts on mail server.
    • Create transport rules & send connectors based on clients requirement.
    • Backup and restoration of user email accounts
    • Administer inbound mail flow using cloud based anti-spam appliances
    • Troubleshoot outlook, OWA and other email client issues
    • Troubleshoot calendar sync issues
    • Resolve outlook, OWA & Lync client issues
    • Resolve issues related to accessing email from iPhones
  • Administration of Federation Services within Active Directory
  • Administration of storage management. Particular with NetApp Storage ONTAP
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of VMware vSphere 6.0 and above
  • Patch management and Systems Monitoring
  • Operation of management systems: Microsoft SCCM, SCOM, SCSM.
  • Integration management: Linux, LDAP, and Active Directory
  • Experience in managing KMS servers, Certificate Authority Servers, and RADIUS Servers
  • Assist communications, business systems, and desktop support groups with troubleshooting issues
  • Troubleshoot problems at all levels from the server to the end user.
  • Create support documentation and assist with training other members of the department to use and provide support for the systems.
  • Automation scripting using Shell and PowerShell.
  • Analyze system log files and determine appropriate courses of action.

  • High Diploma or GED required
  • 8 years of experience installing and maintaining Operating Systems, Infrastructure Systems, and Management Systems
  • Heavy focus on Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server and Exchange.
  • Strong understanding of group policies and permissions.
  • Operating systems management on a multi-location environment: Windows, Linux
  • Patch management and Systems Monitoring
  • Operation of management systems: Microsoft SCCM, SCOM, SCSM.
  • Requires a flexible schedule in order to participate in an on-call rotation and/or after-hours support.
  • The position is expected to build relationships within and across teams, and deliver key technical content to influence stakeholders.
  • Willingness to adapt to other technology areas when required.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States for any company in an ongoing capacity without company sponsorship
  • Must live within reasonable commuting distance as company assisted relocation is not available for this position

  • Degree in computer science or a related field preferred.
  • Certifications for MCSE
  • Experience working with Data Center technologies, UPS, Storage, Network, Virtualization
  • Experience with VMware, VSphere, and SRM
  • Experience with Linux Server Environments.
  • Experience with automation scripting using Shell and PowerShell.
  • Experience with log analyzer tools such as Splunk.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Solarwinds, VCOPS.
  • Experience with Office 365 migration.
  • Experience facilitating Audit / Legal /Sox requests.
  • Chemical/Petrochemical industry experience preferred
