Our client has an immediate need for an experienced Computer and Network Support Technician in the I.T. department. The person performing this work must: Fulfill the role of software help desk to all the staff. Provide technical assistance and training to system users. Investigate and resolve computer software and hardware problems of users. Are the subject matter expert on the business software that supports the overall functionality of our client, including but not limited to Microsoft Network and Sonicwall. Answer clients' inquiries in person and via telephone concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, word processing, programming languages, electronic mail, and operating systems. Installs and performs minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications. Confers with staff, users, and management to determine requirements for new systems or modifications. Is the subject matter expert on the business software that supports the overall functionality of of our client, including but not limited to Microsoft Network, specifically Office 365 and Sonicwall. Provides training to employees on the use of the Microsoft system and network and troubleshoots the same. Reads technical manuals, confers with users, and conducts computer diagnostics to determine nature of problems and provide technical assistance. Enters commands and observes system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors. Tests and monitors software, hardware, and peripheral equipment to evaluate use, effectiveness, and adequacy of product for user. Perform other duties as assigned. The person performing this work will need to: Undergraduate degree preferably in Management Information Systems or Computer Science or comparable certifications. Possess knowledge in the software platform/programs enumerated on previous page. Microsoft network certification is preferred. Knowledge of electric circuit boards, processors, chips, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services including needs assessment techniques, quality service standards, alternative delivery systems, and customer satisfaction evaluation techniques. Determining what is causing an operating error and deciding what to do about it. Conducting tests to determine whether equipment, software, or procedures are operating as expected This project/assignment is expected to last for at least three months.
