Applications Manager / Technical Level 3 Support Specialist
Our client is looking for an Applications Manager / Technical Level 3 Support Specialist for a 9 month project in Roseville, CA.
Responsible for implementation, maintenance, and support of assigned applications to ensure that the Bank's business and operating needs are met. Incumbent is required to be knowledgeable on all assigned systems, providing support to business units in resolving issues and carrying out business goals. This position is accountable for applying and integrating strong banking and technical systems expertise to minimize disruption to Bank processes. Must have the ability to effectively collaborate with others, initiate action and adapt to change.
Supports departmental team members and is responsible for ensuring that established deadlines and client needs are met. Keeps manager well informed of application activities. Performs needed project and support tasks, reporting status and issues appropriately to management, business partners, and/or project managers.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; performance evaluations; rewarding and disciplining employees. Establishes goals and objectives for staff to support business unit's business plan objectives. Reviews job performance and makes authoritative recommendations with regard to hiring and salary and, when necessary, discipline and discharge of staff.
Assesses training needs and selects appropriate training tools for team members. Manages the development of staff through RNA established coaching and supervisory methods. Provides effective leadership and guidance, facilitating a team-building environment that adheres to corporate values. Assists with staffing and budgeting projections on a departmental basis.
Develops department guidelines, policies and operations, including defining requirements for complex and non-standard department methodologies.
Evokes creative and innovative thinking from team members and helps to determine new, creative ways to employ staff on assigned systems and distribute responsibilities.
Anticipates internal clients needs and proposes alternative business solutions. Manages client interaction and expectations regarding development efforts. Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative technical solutions
Oversees and makes suggestions in improvements to security of all assigned systems.
Helps decide, in conjunction with corporate leadership, which software and hardware products and other equipment are most suited for use within Alternative Delivery Channels system infrastructure.
Easily recognizes areas for internal improvement and develops plans for implementation. Lends expertise to business unit teams and task forces.
Manages and develops vendor relationships as needed. Serves as liaison between the production units and vendors as needed to resolve issues that arise and insuring compliance to all performance standards.
Will be required to facilitate team and client meetings effectively.
Keeps teams and management well informed of changes within business unit, assigned systems and industry changes. Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
Complies with and helps to enforce RI and RNA standard policies and procedures for technology systems.
Identifies partnering opportunities for complementary third-party products and systems to broaden company's product line, as well as automate and streamline processes.
Attends industry-related conferences and/or training programs as needed, based on budget availability, to expand and enhance vendor and system knowledge.
Performs all other duties as required.
Excellent communication skills along with the ability to cope with pressure resulting from meeting required deadlines and application responsibilities. Must be able to travel approximately 35% of the time. Proficiency with Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, Word Outlook and Project). Must be flexible, adaptable to changes and a self-starter. Possesses demonstrated work experience with more than one program, server or database management system.
Understands online banking and voice response unit concepts and consistently applies this knowledge in maintaining and developing systems. Understands how legacy and web-based systems interface with each other.
Understands the benefits of the various programming languages and has knowledge of file configurations, including but not limited to BAI and comma delimited.
Possesses significant knowledge of client/server and internet systems architectures. Understands browser/client specific compatibility issues.
