Citrix Virtualization Engineer

job summary:
We have a 6 month renewable position for a Citrix Virtualization Engineer with a client of ours in Cary, NC. Candidates must have substantial migration experience. below is where candidates from first batch were falling short - lack of prior substantial Migration experience

Assists in the development and maintenance of network communications. Uses knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to help design and install internal and external networks. Tests and evaluates network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements. Requires a bachelor's degree and 5-10 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

The primary objective is to work with LATAM for application migration from old Citrix farms to new XenApp farms, complete application remediation, testing, and deployment.

- Engineer will play key roles in the identification and resolution of complex end user computing problems (Tier 4 support) utilizing structured trouble-shooting tools and techniques.

- Participate in end user computing / workplace technology solutions design, engineering, optimization as well as contribute to the overall direction of the technology responsible for software, hardware, and resource decisions

- Collaborate with internal Engineering teams, vendors and external IT groups to design and implement Global solutions to meet both global and local in country business requirements based on Domestic Reference Architecture.
