Salesforce Systems Analyst

job summary:
Overview :

The Systems Analyst will be a member of the Salesforce Systems team, reporting to the project leader. The Salesforce Systems team executes on complex projects of high and medium scope relating to Salesforce, including data integration with internal upstream processes, and external third-party vendor applications.

The systems analyst will be the primary systems owner for the systems requirements on his/her assigned projects. He or she will:

  • Establish and maintain productive working relationships with the Salesforce business and systems teams and engage them in a dynamic process to clarify and elaborate upon the business requirements they provide, and translate those business requirements into effective systems requirements and functional designs.
  • Act as the primary subject matter expert within systems for Salesforce projects.
  • Address questions about requirements and functional designs raised by the Salesforce developers, and translate technical concerns for consideration by the Salesforce business users.
  • Ensure that the business and systems requirements are tested properly and that defects are identified and tracked. Conduct checkpoint meetings, maintain near term project plans, and communicate status to project participants.
Responsibilities:

  • Develop clear, concise methodology documents, which require proficiency in interviewing skills, workflow analysis, dataflow diagramming, screen design, functional design etc.
  • Structuring and prioritizing business requirements and communicating plans with business users for review and approval
  • System testing for any project/enhancements/production issues.
  • Maintain issue logs; coordinate and support communications surrounding both systems and user acceptance for assigned project(s).
  • Manage application design through the various systems development lifecycle stages from business need through design and delivery.
  • Facilitate the definition of functional requirements by working with developers, business analysts and business users in prototyping, proof of concepts and design sessions.
  • Translate and present project concepts into effective visual images which clarify design elements and issues for both business and technical audiences.
  • Present proposals and solutions to business users
  • Provide training and user manuals to users of a new system or creating system guidelines and manuals for the organization
  • Coordinate with vendors to incorporate their products into requirements, design and testing wherever applicable.
  • Keep up to date with technical and industry developments, as it pertains to Salesforce.
Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science or related work experience required.
  • Strong Knowledge of Salesforce is big plus.
  • Must have at least 6+ years of experience implementing systems, with 4+ years in the financial services industry
  • Strong analytical, documentation and organization skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, communication and presentation skills
  • Must be skilled at writing specifications that programmers can use to code data interfaces, user interfaces and workflows
  • Must be highly proficient at interpreting business requirement documents and writing system requirement and computer systems design documents
  • Prior experience with writing CSD/TRD/BRD/TDD (Computer Systems Design Doc, Techincal Requirement Doc, Business Specification Doc, Technical Design Doc) and must be highly proficient at interpreting/writing business requirement documents and writing system requirement and computer systems design documents.
  • Strong understanding of Agile and the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Ability to work in a team environment
