Sr Network Security Analyst

job summary:
The Senior Network Security Analyst serves as a technical lead for the EIS organization and responsibilities include:

  • Support for routers, port level and switch level ACL's, switches, firewalls, VPNs, security appliances/services, and wireless networks and provides in depth analysis of packet traces and network equipment statistics to troubleshoot issues.
  • Ensures all designs and services are developed with secure architectures and methodologies utilizing security best practices
  • Interpret firewall logs and events, as well as rules logic.
  • Applies technical experience and troubleshooting techniques using various methods to detect and resolve service-impacting events by determining and eliminating root cause.
  • Must have in depth knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, 802.11, layer 2 switching, DHCP, DNS, network security, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Support Security Operations team and greater Information Technology team as necessary on high priority/high visibility problems.
  • Prepare ad-hoc analysis and reports as needed.
  • Provide weekend and after-hours support as required by the position; at times, this position does require 24/7 availability to support operations.
  • Perform other duties and participate in special IT projects as requested, to continually improve/upgrade the network security infrastructure.
  • Experience: Requires 4 years of network engineering experience working in IT operations and 2 years of production support for one or more of the major firewall platforms;
OR

  • 8 years of network engineering experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree and 2 years of production support for one or more of the major firewall platforms.
  • Experience should include the ability to secure network services and knowledge of secure modular network design and risk assessment.
Support for routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, security appliances/services, and wireless networks and provides in depth analysis of packet traces and network equipment statistics to troubleshoot issues.

Leads new technology designs and solutions for routing, switching, security appliances/services, and wireless networks. Works with various teams to meet all applicable current and upcoming regulatory requirements

Designs and implements security solution to support the Information Technology infrastructure.

Ensures that designs are successfully implemented, protect companies assets, operate as planned and follow company standards. Ensures data in transit is encrypted when required
