Instructional Designer

job summary:
This position will involve supporting the design and development of training content using instructional design principles. In addition, responsibilities will also include various departmental duties in support of the administration of our State and Member training programs.

Job Responsibilities:

- Work with subject matter experts to identify training needs

- Collaborate with instructors in all phases of the instructional design process, including the development of learning objectives and engaging learning activities

- Support the set-up and administration of new and existing training management database systems

- Support and assist instructors in preparing for delivery of training classes

- Interact with and respond to training related requests from Members, NERC employees, and other departments

- Collaborate with the State & Member Training team on other training related projects, as needed

Requirements:

- Experience in instructional design and/or instructional technology

- Knowledge of instructional design concepts and principles

- Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook

- HTML programming knowledge

- Experience with Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS) and/or Learning Management System s (LMS)

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Strong customer service skills

- Self-motivated, quick learner, resourceful

- Attention to detail - analytical and organizational skills

- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple assignments/prioritize

Preferred Skills:

- BA in instructional design, education technology or equivalent

- Experience with xAPI

- Visual design skills
