job summary:
This is a blended role with responsibilities in several areas (Implementation/Product Support) of North American business, managing the member onboarding process, supporting daily trading environment, and supporting our customer base and working side by side with our Product and Development teams. The role is critical to the success of the team across the North America region and will add depth of experience to an already strong team around the globe.

This role requires a high level of technical competency, as well as strong people skills and enthusiasm for working on a wide range of responsibilities within a collaborative working environment. The role will take the lead and work closely with our offices across the North America region as well as (UK/APAC). This position will be responsible for supporting all North American and global requests and our core customer base for our proprietary technologies.

This multi-tasking role demands project coordination, practical technical skills, and outstanding communication skills across all levels, with some industry knowledge of equities market. The candidate must enjoy 'hands-on' work and writing technical specifications. The role will have exposure to the forefront of electronic equity trading arena.

This is a diverse role involving elements of Windows/Network/Linux Administration, Project Management, Testing, SQL development, Implementation with Members on and offsite, Product Support, and Relationship Management. therefore, we are seeking a creative thinker who enjoys diverse responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the client on-boarding process through pre- and post- sales technical advice.
  • Work with OMS Vendors to define specifications for FIX or other proprietary integrations.
  • Support Liquidnet proprietary interfaces for various OMS vendors.
  • Manage client application upgrades and new functionality deployments.
  • Work closely with the sales team to support our core customer base.
  • Build, maintain, and test demo environments.
  • Manage new feature validation across the region - sales team / customer focused.
  • Help train members and Liquidnet teams on new product features.
  • Provide support for SQL and FIX Technologies for in-house applications and client OMS integrations.
  • Support all 3rd party FIX connectivity.
  • Work with team to handle day-to-day requests for the region.
  • Escalate problems as needed to local or global Production Support teams and Development.
  • Provide offsite technical support to our Members as required (out of state travel may be required).
Skills/Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in technology preferably on the buy-side, sell-side, or trading vendor.
  • Windows Server/Workstation high level experience a must.
  • Knowledge of buy-side workflow and equity trading.
  • Programming or scripting language (Perl/Python) desired.
  • FIX Protocol cerrtification/connectivity experience.
  • Series 7 and 63 required, OR must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
  • Experience in driving global and regional projects/initiatives.
  • Proven experience of success in high pressure / high demand environment.
  • Ability to have technical discussions with clients and vendors, client facing experience.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and technical writing.
  • Ability to put together project plans and coordinate projects.
  • Gather and communicate client requirements to other team members in other regional offices.
  • Hands-on support background with emphasis in financial help desk or customer support (Tier 2) experience.
  • 2+ years in writing SQL on any of MSSQL, Oracle and Sybase database environments.
  • Knowledge of FIX Protocol.
  • Knowledge of at least one buy-side or sell side order management system preferred.
