Systems Administrator

job summary:
Maintains. administers. and installs network servers. services. and applications in accordance with standard Information Technology policies. processes. and procedures or as directed by IT management. Responds to help requests and performs level one diagnostic on network servers. services. and applications.

Key Duties and Responsibilities ----

  • Performs administration (add. delete. change) of Windows 2000/2003 network. Exchange 2000/2003 e-mail. fax. and VPN and Citrix remote access accounts and other network resources. services. and applications---
  • Monitors network and network devices including network connectivity. Citrix connectivity and function. fax and Exchange e-mail server connectivity and function. server performance issues. etc.---
  • Provides level one diagnosis of issues with network servers. services. and applications in a Windows 2000/2003 network environment---
  • Provides level three diagnosis of Windows and Citrix client issues including operating system. devices. services. printing. network issues. and client application issues (e.g. Outlook. Office Pro. and line of business apps.)---
  • Performs administration of the Veritas Netback Enterprise Backup system including tape management and acquisition. issue resolution. hardware maintenance. and creating reports as directed by IT management ---- Additional Position Responsibilities ? Optional ----
  • Responds to alerts or emergency issues within 15 minutes during normal business hours and when on-call.---
  • Reviews technologies and processes to identify opportunities for process. performance. reliability. or data management. storage or backup improvements and to identify opportunities to reduce costs.---
Education

An Associate's Degree in information systems or information technology or related field Required---or equivalent work experience Required---A Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university in information systems or information technology or related field Preferred---Other or graduate from a technical school in information systems or information technology or related field Required ----

Work Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in in an IT support/administration rol in a Windows 2000-2003 network environment. Required---
  • Other Experienced in maintaining. diagnosing. and administering servers. services. and applications Required---
  • Other Experience working with no less than six of the following is required:---o
  • Windows 2000/2003 server---o
  • Windows 2000/2003 networking---o
  • Active Directory---o Exchange 2000/2003 server---o
