A client of ours north of San Antonio, TX is looking for a Help Desk Technician II for a 6- 12 month contract opportunity.

responsibilities:
Responsibilities and Duties but, not limited to are the following:

  • Providing computer set up, computer system support and resolving computer related problems
  • Answer helpdesk phone line and enter details into the ticket tracking system
  • Maintain daily records in the ticket tracking system.
  • Provide advanced technical computer support for all applications, tools and utilities
  • Perform routine duties in the set up, maintenance and repair of computer hardware and peripherals
  • Install, upgrade, configure and provide support for desktop hardware, software and peripherals
  • Determine when to replace or dispose of hardware
  • Assist with ordering and tracking hardware inventory
  • Assist with equipment disposals
  • Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service
  • Confer with users and supervisor to establish requirements for new systems or modifications
  • Assist with maintaining user documentation for applications
  • Reassemble machines after making repairs or replacing parts
  • Reinstall software programs or adjust settings on existing software
  • Assemble machines according to specifications, using hand tools and power tools
  • Operate machines in order to test functioning of parts and mechanisms
  • Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables,
  • operating systems or appropriate software
  • Install and configure new equipment, including operating software and peripherals.
  • Identify, research and troubleshoot complex user questions and problems
  • Build images for personal computers and laptops
  • Create scripts and execute programs to manage software on computers
  • Assist with ensuring proper licensing limits and licensing questions
  • Evaluate software products and make recommendations
  • Stay abreast of advances in technology
 
qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience in computer setup and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of using computers and computer systems, including hardware and software to set up functions, enter data or process information
  • Documented hands on MAC experience
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service
  • Knowledge of information systems products and services
  • Knowledge of computer functions and information technology to research, analyze and troubleshoot computer problems
  • Skilled in time management
  • Skilled in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing and changing priorities
  • Skilled in identifying, analyzing and resolving problems
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to listen to and understand information verbally and in writing
  • Have and maintain a valid Texas Driver's License
