Position Description

  • The VCS&A team is a small team within Google Play devoted to identifying developers with the potential to become the next generation of managed partners and to create freshness and diversity in the Play Store and Android ecosystem.
  • We achieve this by way of working with other key influencers in the startup ecosystem like VC firms and agencies and by operating programs that provide tangible value and attract high potential developers into our launch pipelines.
  • The team mainly scouts, accelerates, and supports these startup app and game developers.
  • Start on Android (SOA) Program Just over one year old, SOA has received thousands of applications from startup app and game devs since its inception, generated by organic inbound interest or by proactive hunting via regional SOA launch events in startup ecosystems,
  • App Annie research, scraping VC funding newsletters, and canvassing mobile design blogs and other sources.
  • New pipeline and proactive targets are reviewed weekly and approved candidates are invited and coached through launch via more automated BDops outreach.
  • Of those thousands of applications over the last 16 months, we have accepted hundreds of high potential app and game launches that have now accounted for millions of installs and spend.
  • We plan to significantly increase our target pipeline by adding an additional Temp resource who can help scout, curate, scale, and coordinate onboarding and support processes.
