Business Systems Analyst

job summary:
Business Analyst Responsibilities:

  • The analyst works with the business to identify opportunities for improvement(s) in systems, applications and/or business processes.
  • The analyst is involved in the design or modification of systems, applications and/or business processes.
  • The analyst documents systems, applications or business processes.
  • The analyst documents functional and non-functional requirements of the systems, applications and/or business processes.
  • The analyst interacts with system architects and developers to ensure the systems, applications and/or business processes is/are properly implemented.
  • The analyst may help test the systems, applications and/or business processes and create related documentation and/or user manuals.
  • Conducting meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.
  • Documenting and communicating the results of your efforts.
  • Effectively communicating your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.
  • Designing, conducting and performing user acceptance testing.
  • Updating, implementing and maintaining procedures.
  • Prioritizing initiatives based on business needs and requirements.
  • Serving as a liaison between stakeholders and users.
  • Managing competing resources and priorities.
  • Monitoring deliverables and ensuring timely completion of projects.

responsibilities:
Business Analyst Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in Business or a related field or an MBA is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in business analysis required.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in requirements gathering and business process documentation required.
  • Hands-on experience creating all of the following documents/artifacts:

    • Business Requirement Document
    • Functional requirement specification (FRS)/ Functional Specification Document (FSD)
    • Project vision document
    • Requirement Management Plan
    • Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM)
    • System requirement specification (SRS)/ System Requirement Document (SRD)
    • Test case
    • Use Cases
    • User Stories
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A track record of following through on commitments.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Experience leading and developing top performing teams.
  • A history of leading and supporting successful projects.

skills: Your main tasks will include performing detailed requirements analysis, documenting processes, and performing some user acceptance testing. To succeed in this role you should have a natural analytical way of thinking and be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical users.
