The Data Scientist who is passionate about data and want to apply machine learning techniques to solve real-world problems for our clients. This person will be expected to be proficient in the exploration and understanding of structured and unstructured data, machine learning and data mining techniques, statistical modeling methods, time series, text mining, recommendations, clustering, anomaly detection, forecasting methods, optimization, information retrieval, supervised and unsupervised learning, and other advanced statistical techniques. The successful candidate will enjoy working closely with stakeholders to leverage data to solve critical business problems. He or she will be responsible for working with internal and external customers to understand user behavior, customer outcomes, and performance management.

The Data Scientist will work on all aspects of the design, development and delivery of machine learning enabled solutions including problem definition, data acquisition, data exploration and visualization, feature engineering, experimenting with ML algorithms, evaluating and comparing metrics, deploying the models, iteratively improving the solution, building the tools for this process etc. He or she will work with data from diverse structured and unstructured data sources in both batch and streaming modes, and various formats including tabular, text, time series, image/video and audio.

  • Formulate meaningful hypothesis that are relevant to the business objectives
  • Design and train models for use in production environments
  • Mine structured and unstructured data for patterns
  • Create advanced visualizations
  • Build and evaluate predictive models
  • Problem definition, data acquisition, data exploration and visualization
  • Experimenting with machine learning algorithms, evaluating and comparing metrics, iteratively improving the solution
  • Work with application developers to deploy predictive models
  • Visualize and report data findings creatively in a variety of visual formats that appropriately provides insights to the organization
  • Provide intellectual leadership and analytical creativity
  • Package and present findings to company leadership
Job Requirements:

  • Background in Computer Science, or equivalent technical field
  • MS degree with 3+ years of experience in the industry preferred
  • Proficient at machine learning and data mining techniques in several areas of machine learning and data mining techniques, statistical modeling methods, exploration and understanding of structured and unstructured data, time series, text mining, optimization, information retrieval, supervised and unsupervised learning, recommendations, clustering, anomaly detection, forecasting methods, optimization, information retrieval, and other advanced statistical techniques
  • Understanding of the CRISP-DM methodology
  • Proven experience working with data from diverse structured and unstructured data sources in both batch and streaming modes, and various formats including tabular, text, time series, image/video and audio
  • Ability to prototype statistical analysis and predictive modeling algorithms and apply these algorithms for data driven solutions.
  • Software development skills in one or more high level languages (Java/Scala/Python/R)
  • Proficient at designing and implementing visualization and reporting for structured and unstructured data sets
  • Proficient at working with 100+Gigabyte data sets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to succinctly summarize key findings
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
  • Comfortable working as both part of a high-performing team and as an entirely independent performer
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize critical tasks and conflicting requirements with a high attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to balance and prioritize multiple conflicting requirements
  • Strong presentation skills with the confidence to present to executive-level audiences
  • Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
