Technical Project Manager

job summary:
Scope of work:

I . Dynamic newsroom replacement:

- Perform a needs assessment, evaluate options, select, and create implementation plan

o does NOT include implementation of the new solution

- Deliverables included in this activity should include but may not be limited to:

o project plan and schedule

o functionality and systems requirements

o inventory of existing functionality and technology

o needs and scope assessment and report

o evaluation of product demos

o analysis of systems architecture, usability, functionality, cost, impact to stakeholders

o content migration and implementation requirements

o estimates of cost, scope, time, resourcing

- This is a priority project due to the newsroom being older technology that will not be supported by our IT staff much longer. The systems retirement date has not yet been identified but is impending.

- Two systems components need to be replaced:

o news story input application

o newsroom web publish application

- The decision regarding which newsroom solution is selected to must be considered within the context of our long-term CMS selection (see activity II below)

- The options currently under early evaluation for replacing the newsroom applications are:

o A new or more modern CMS platform (OpenText LiveSite, Acquia Drupal, Adobe AEM etc.)

o Manage content in existing CMS and leverage Acquia Lift for content syndication

o Manage content in existing CMS and build a custom solution for content syndication

- Documentation of findings, assessment, recommendations and work performed

- Client is open to considering other solutions that would meet functionality and systems requirements

II. Digital content management systems evaluation and selection:

- Evaluate and select a digital CMS for ClientHealth

- The newsroom solution selected in activity I will have an influence on the outcome of the CMS selection in activity II, and vice versa.

- Replacing the newsroom application is the higher priority given its short-life status, although it is recognized these activities will have dependencies.

- The set of deliverables included in this activity should include but may not be limited to:

o project plan and schedule

o functionality and systems requirements

o inventory of existing functionality, technology and subsystems (Internet, Intranet, Blog,

dynamic content applications (newsroom, provider bios)

o solution comparisons, including evaluation of product demos

o analysis of systems architecture, usability, functionality, cost, impact to stakeholders

o content migration and implementation requirements

o estimates of cost, scope, time, resourcing

- CMS packages currently under evaluation:

o OpenText TeamSite (existing CMS)

o OpenText LiveSite

o Acquia Cloud Site Factory, Acquia Lift

- Documentation of findings, assessment, recommendations and work performed

- Client may be open to considering other CMS systems that would meet functionality and systems requirements
