Sr. Director PMO- Diagnostic

job summary:
Responsibilities:

  • Build a world class PMO
  • Lead and grow an international team of Program Managers with groups in Finland, China and North America
  • Develop Core Team leaders able to execute complex projects.
  • Develop key performance indicators to measure the organization's progress.
  • Build and maintain a high performing team, able to collaborate on projects across various geographic sites.
  • Deliver PKI Diagnostics projects on time, on budget, on quality. Projects include hardware (liquid handling, micro fluidics, mass spectrometry, sample prep instruments), reagents, software and systems
  • Plan realistic project timelines, resource allocations and budget
  • Ensure the budget is adhered to throughout fiscal year
  • Push back on unreasonable demands (e.g. timelines).
  • Ensure compliance of IVD products
  • Be aware of details in ongoing projects
  • Manage the team to achieve metric driven objectives.
  • Ensure program managers manage towards their KPIs and do not just report deviations
  • Organize BIC (Business Investment Committee) and PRB (Program Review Board) meetings
  • Work with management to analyze program proposals and program objectives
  • Develop program plan, budget, schedule, and scope
  • Develop program management standards and methodologies to achieve program goals.
  • Perform resource allocation and workload assignment for timely deliveries
Education, Certification, and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in program management.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience (Teams of 10+, not necessarily a team of PMs)
  • Masters or Ph.D. in Life Sciences or Engineering
  • Must have worked on the development of a new diagnostics instrument platform (e.g. the reagent part)
  • Clear understanding of design control from a development perspective and the ability to communicate its key elements
  • Experience in products following IVD guidelines (ideally FDA -510k or PMA, CE-IVD or CFDA) is a plus, however not required
