Application Support Analyst

job summary:
POSITION SUMMARY :

The Application Support Analyst role is to provide support to software applications / solutions used by client in support of business requirements. Responsibilities include planning, installing, supporting, monitoring, upgrading and maintaining software application/solutions in a highly integrated and dynamic environment.

· The Application Support Analyst will have strong communication and interpersonal skills required while working collaboratively in a team environment and interacting with customers, system owner, and vendors.

· The Application Support Analyst requires broad-based knowledge on a variety of computer, network, security, programming/scripting technologies along with the ability to rapidly learn new skills/technologies.

· The Application Support Analyst requires excellent documentation skills to produce clear, concise and understandable documents as require by regulatory requirements.

· The Application Support Analyst requires the ability to work multiple projects simultaneously.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Install, configure, test, manage, maintain and upgrade software including database, operating systems, and applications independently and in teams.
  • Prepare documentations and specifications
  • Profile server resource usage, and optimize and adjust as necessary
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
  • Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostics and analytical skills relating to incident and problem management for integrated systems spanning multiple hosts, technologies and software applications in a matrixed management environment.
  • Document operations, installation, IQ, work instructions and troubleshooting.
  • Work with customers to evaluate, recommend, implement, test solutions for business needs.
  • Perform upgrade on existing software to maintain supportability, usability and effectivness of applications.
  • Drive tasks to completion with minimal supervision
  • Communicate technical problems, issues and alternatives to teams and management in ways that facilitate resolutions
  • Supporting applications in a multinational corporation and a data center environment
  • Support business applications in a federally regulated environment, specifically FDA, SOX, GLBA, PCI-DSS 3, and HIPPA-HITEC
  • Resolves escalated Support desk issues.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : Minimum level of education/experience required.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Science, Management Information Systems.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a related position.
SPECIALIZED SKILLS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS : Additional preferred or required qualifications.

  • Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications
  • Capable of troubleshooting common computer/ OS/ application issues
