V&V Engineer

job summary:
Verification and Validation Engineer

Position Summary:

Verification and Validation Engineer is responsible for verifying proper SW and system operation. A significant responsibility of this individual, and the test team, is the assessment of signal processing anomalies that may be associated with aspects of radar performance. Responsibilities include, supporting SW development engineers by conducting independent testing, documenting and following up on issues identified, formal documentation of test procedures and test results, and the structuring of automated test processes and procedures supporting regression testing. Both bench-level and vehicle-level verification and validation will be necessary; additionally, assisting in resolving problems and issues that occur during installation in customer vehicles will be required.

Specific Duties:

  • Collect and analyze radar core functionality data from vehicles
  • Create smoke tests for radar features, execute and analyze them
  • Review requirements and identify which should be validation on vehicle
  • Create test plan for validation requirements execute them on vehicle and complete data analysis.
  • Do release level testing for core and feature functionality
  • Full understanding of the data acquisition system and associated interfaces
  • Follow up with team to ensure test specifications are complete and baselined for each release
  • Ensure compliance with System Test process, e.g. correct document/report templates, traceability according to System Requirements and System Architecture requirements
  • Strive for continuous improvement and efficiency within the team
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor
Education, Experience and Skills Requirements:

  • BSEE, Computer engineering, Hardware/Software engineering, or equivalent required
  • 5+ years of experience vehicle testing - radar signal processing background a plus
  • Expert knowledge in testing and validation processes
  • Good understanding of software, electronics and hardware design
  • Automotive industry background is a plus
  • Proven ability to deliver technical assignments
  • Excellent team player with proven leadership ability
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High degree of innovation and creativity
