Sr Software Engineer

job summary:
Position Summary:

At Client in Core Map Engineering organization, we are looking for highly skilled, self-motivated, Sr. Software Engineer who is passionate about developing efficient tools and services for Big Data automation in AWS to build our industry-leading map. We provide the opportunity to collaborate with an energetic and dedicated team that works on cutting-edge technology to create tools and services. The candidate will work with developers, architects, data scientists to develop, deploy, and maintain applications in multiple environments.

Responsibilities:

- Develop full stack applications/services/tools/script for pipelines running in AWS to process big data

- Work closely with technical product managers and data scientist to design, implement, test highly scalable automated solution running in AWS

- Participate in design reviews, code reviews of your work and the work of your peer engineers.

- Participate in architecture and design efforts with the team member and/or across multiple teams.

- Automate deployment processes and provide adequate test coverage by utilizing test framework

- Mentor junior engineers to develop quality code and review the design/code

- Respond to internal customers escalation requests

Qualifications:

- M.S in Computer Science or equivalent

- 3+ years of programming experience Java, Python, and/or Scala.

- 3+ years of working experience with AWS services (EC2, SNS, SQS, S3, EMR, Data Pipeline, VPC and etc.)

- 2+ years of development experience of Web Services (RESTful, SOAP)

- 2+ years of development experience with web application frameworks - Spring /Spring Boot/AngulaJS

- 2+ years of development experience with relational database, SQL/PostgreSQL

- Development experience with Linux, and Linux based scripting is a plus

- Development Experience with Apache Spark/Big Data is a plus

- Development experience with Docker is a plus
