Technical Planner

job summary:
Technical Planner (Enterprise Architect)

Seniority: Senior

Duration: 1 Year

Looking for a seasoned technical architect with strong project management experience to join the team. Team is focused on standardization, automation and continuous improvement for more nimble deployments to the next generation of kp.org on heavily virtualized Linux environments. The primary initiatives are around a major security upgrade and a consumer digital strategy focused on development and infrastructure in support of responsive web design for the consumer portal. Each team is comprised of roughly 20 people.

Scope of Work

  • Documents and keeps abreast of current schedules and build plans for all ongoing projects to include planned software stack changes for all environment types. Works with deployment and development teams to prioritize technical changes
  • Develops both summary and detailed technical presentations to include cost cases
  • Provides longer term plans for technical changes and services, coordinating support resources where required
  • Researches and evangelizes best practices for solutions, software products and infrastructure
Required Skills and Experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to include communicating to senior management. Experienced with using Microsoft Office projects to include Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Proven track record of engineering and system administration within a complex environment.
  • Strong understanding of server and application architecture, application development and best practices for install, upgrade and problem diagnosis
  • Deep technical understanding of multi-tier web systems and web services to include workload balancing, recovery and fundamentals of capacity planning
  • Experienced with virtualized infrastructure at an implementation level
  • Background in Solaris, UNIX or Linux operating systems
  • Knowledgeable in network fundamentals and network security
