Epic Clarity Report Writer

job summary:
Our client is looking for an Epic Clarity Report Writer for a 6+ month project in Sacramento, CA.

- Expert-level report development skills using MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL, etc. and reporting tools like SAP Crystal Reports, Business Objects or Tableau.

- 2+ year of Clarity experience developing complex/custom analytics reports; proficient with Epic Clarity data modeling. Epic Clarity certified (i.e. Inpatient, Ambulatory, or Resolute); must be able to pass additional Epic certification exam in two attempts within six months and must be able to travel out of state for training and/or educational sessions.

- Proficiency: 1) SQL programming to develop, tune and optimize reports/queries; 2) developer and reporting tools such as Toad, SQL Server Management Studio and Business Objects, Crystal Reports, Microsoft Access, Excel, etc.); 3) Microsoft Office suite; 4) use of development tools such as Visual Basic, VB.net, Java, C++ and advanced VBA (Access) for developers.

- Knowledge of data modeling/architecture principles to produce accurate and timely reports/data.

- Database experience (development, maintenance and support).

- Effective communication skills (verbal and written) to convey information clearly and concisely. Able to solicit/obtain information from all levels of staff and management.

- Ability to comprehend, translate requirements and deliver product. Identifies and communicates problems in a collaborative and professional manner.

- Interacts with non-technical users with the ability to explain and communicate technical information in a way that is understandable and logical in order to allow them to make business decisions.

- Analytical skills to develop, comprehend and synthesize complex technical, clinical, and fiscal information; conveys information succinctly and accurately to management and teams.

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and has organizations skills to determine, schedule and prioritize workload, while taking ownership of the data accuracy, quality and deliverables.

- Ability to lead efforts and represent HIM. Establishes customer service-oriented relationships with End-Users. Schedules meetings as needed.

- Works autonomously and takes initiative in a self-directed, professional, and productive manner to produce high quality deliverables with minimal direction.

- Exercises independent judgment, makes timely and sound decisions, and accepts responsibility for decisions and actions.

- Works collaboratively as a team member in a dynamic and diverse environment.

- Ability to work overtime, flexible hours, and On Call hours as needed to meet business and project needs.

- Complies with CLIENT and external guidelines, policies and procedures; especially related to ensure data privacy, security and confidentiality, and prevent the inappropriate release of information.

- Maintains a clean, well-organized work area.

- Ability to handle the stress and pressures of a job where there is noise from conversation and office machines.

- Flexibility and adaptability to performs other tasks/duties as assigned.

qualifications:
Preferred:

- Associate or bachelor degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.

- Demonstrated knowledge of server connectivity and other data source linkage.

- Demonstrated knowledge of statistics, diagnosis and procedure codes (ICD-9, ICD-10 and CPT).

- Demonstrated knowledge with visualization and analytics tools such as Tableau.

- Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) experience to support analytic reporting.

- Epic Caboodle certification.

- Knowledge and understanding of University policies and procedures.

- Knowledge of reporting tools and experience in business or clinical process improvement initiatives.
