Information Technology is seeking an Information Technology Manager for the management of the Epic Ambulatory Clinical Applications; Ambulatory, MyChart Patient Portal, Haiku and Canto mobile apps, e-Prescribing, Physician Efficiency Program, Infusion Centers, Health System strategic Epic Hosting programs, and other Health System strategic projects.

As Manager of the EMR Ambulatory Applications Team, this position will have responsibility for multiple Epic modules and will have responsibility for managing critical deliverables with significant financial and quality impact to Client System.

The position will manage the enhancement, maintenance, and operational support of the Epic Ambulatory Applications and Hosting programs related to these applications. The position will also manage the implementation of new Epic Modules and Hosting programs related Epic Ambulatory Applications and third party applications related to optimization and execution of the CLIENT IT Epic systems strategic plan. This includes all aspects of operational support and systems implementation from managing urgent system fixes, application upgrades and requirements gathering, analysis and design, configuration and test, through deployment and support of various healthcare quality and strategic initiatives. The position works with multiple health system executives across the CLIENT enterprise such as the Executive Director of Patient Care Services, EMR Medical Director , Chief Quality Officer, Chief Medical Offier, Chief Medical Information Officer, Chief Information Officer, Executive Director of Performance Improvement/Patient Experience/Knowledge Management/HIM, Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and Director of Practice Management Board, and Director of Clinical Operations. In addition, this position will work with other department administrators, managers and staff in Patient Care Services, Ambulatory Operations, Clinical Operations, Practice Management Board, Health Management and Education, Performance Improvement, Quality and Safety, Ancillary Departments and HIM, cross functional teams, and subject matter experts throughout the health system delivery process. The position reports to the Epic Applications Advanced EMR Manager of Client System's Information Technology Applications department. Duties include:

qualifications:
Required:

- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Information Technology or similar discipline.

- Five to ten years of supporting information technology and service experience in a health care setting

- Five years working in an IT setting supporting Epic applications

- Three to Five years supervisory or management experience

Preferred:

- Epic certifications in at least three Epic applications, one of which must be Epic Ambulatory is strongly preferred.

The Manager oversees a highly specialized Epic applications team. The Manager accomplishes organizational objectives through the coordinated achievements of subordinate staff and ensures subordinate supervisors and professionals adhere to defined internal controls. The Manager ensures the accountability and stewardship of human, financial, and physical resources in compliance with departmental and organizational goals and protects departmental assets. The Manager is a recognized leader and subject matter expert of one or more Epic applications and provides leadership and coordinates support for associated interfaces and systems.

 
skills: The Manager is responsible for the following key areas:

1. Manages Epic applications program development, software testing, estimates of costs and resource needs, budgets, and user support systems and executing them through subordinates throughout the medical center, outpatient clinics and hosted affiliates.

2.Reviews current status of ambulatory clinical and patient facing applications and aligns with operational workflows and processes. Prepares recommendations for system improvements and proposes technical and procedural solutions to improve integration and effectiveness of various functions, applications, and new releases. Triages work and issues to address business needs.

3. Assists with the development and delivery of knowledge management guidelines, user aids, and training programs for patient access, managed care and clinical applications. Develops, coordinates, and manages support staff for troubleshooting and resolving problems.

5. Collaborates with key staff and managers across departments on issues of performance and functionality, as well as new ambulatory clinical and patient facing applications functionality and implementations.

6. Advises and influences senior management on quality improvement, state-of-the-art advances, vendor coordination, and the latest industry developments in ambulatory clinical and patient facing applications.
