Project Overview:

  • The Developer Infrastructure (DI) UX team is responsible for the design and research of a variety of software development tools used at Google, Alphabet, and beyond.
  • Our goal is to partner with product management and engineering to provide excellent tools that increase the productivity of software developers in every phase of the software development life cycle.
  • In this role, you'll support our team's research activities that ensure we are providing our users a best-in-class experience across our developer tools.
  • You will partner with UX researchers across the team to recruit and schedule participants, manage study and participant logistics, and support data collection, moderation, analysis, reporting, and other research activities. To be successful in this role, you must have excellent communication and organization skills.
  • You should be adaptable, thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments, and be open to learning and feedback.
  • You should love both working independently and as part of a team.
Overall Responsibilities:

  • Assist UX researchers with data collection, moderation, analysis, reporting, and other research activities
  • Observe study sessions, take notes, and provide transcripts
  • Assist with video and/or audio recording during study sessions
  • Assist with data organization, data analysis, and report documentation

responsibilities:
  • Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:
  • Partner with UX researchers to source, recruit, and schedule participants for a UX research studies, including lab-based and remote studies
  • Communicate with participants regarding study session details, including sending reminders, technical details, and collecting signed NDAs
  • Create highlight videos/screenshots and pull representative quotes from study session recordings
Overall Responsibilities:

qualifications:
Required Skills:

  • B.S./B.A. in Human Factors, Psychology, HCI/Computer Science, or other field focusing on human computer interaction.
  • 2+ years of experience in related field
  • Basic understanding of common user experience research methods, with a strong desire to learn Detail­ oriented working style
  • Excellent organization skills Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with time constraints
  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules and multiple projects
  • Comfortable operating basic AV equipment, especially video conference software Experience using spreadsheets (e.g., MS Excel, Google Sheets) for data organization and analysis
 
skills: Nice to have Skills (not required):

  • Masters/PhD (in progress or completed) in Human Factors, Psychology, HCI/Computer Science, or other field focusing on qualitative research, human behavior or human computer interaction
  • Previous experience with user experience research
  • Previous experience recruiting participants for marketing, research, or similar
  • Familiarity with software development
