Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or IT related field preferred.
  • Substantial knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems including XP, 7, Server 2003, and Server 2008.
  • Extensive Microsoft Office Suite experience including Word, Excel, and Outlook, ensuring ability to properly respond to inquiries.
  • Network experience-working knowledge of TCP/IP, HTML, firewall, Cisco router and switch configurations.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange. Experience with VMWare, Microsoft SQL, and Citrix pre

  • Job Responsibilities:
  • The security and network technician will be responsible for the configuration, installation and maintenance of new and existing data networks and information systems located throughout our operations.
  • Responsible for any intrusion protection on our network and into our systems
  • Configures and maintain our firewalls, Open DNS and other security measures on our network.
  • Working knowledge of Cisco. Citrix, Windows and other networking products (configuring, command line scripting, enforcing policies, maintaining, and updating)
  • Working knowledge of WAN, and LAN both from a transport and protocol level.
  • Working knowledge of each layer of the OSI model.
  • Maintain and monitor Sunrock network security devices including ASA, Malware, OpenDNS, and McAfee etc. for all server PC and mobile devices.
  • Diagnoses and reports network outages (systems/network/phones) to be repaired and aid in their resolution, possibly utilizing their Cisco Networking knowledge and experience.
  • Bandwidth & Latency and outage Issue troubleshooting.
  • Maintain and monitor network appliances at all sites, including switches, routers, wireless routers, Cradlepoint/cable/T1 and other network handoff devices. This includes keeping an up-to-date inventory and upgrade schedule on each appliance.
  • Willingness to learn and maintain support to industry specific hardware and software. (Integra, TrackIT GPS, Command Alkon, etc.)
  • Understands all company hardware (Simplivity, SAN, networking devices) and software (Microsoft products, Antivirus, Citrix) systems to provide resolutions to user issues and aid other IT staff.
  • Researches and recommends and aids in the selection of technological solutions appropriate for the company's growing business need and environment.
  • Work with other IT department members to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Handles the multitasking of day-to-day tasks while actively participating in complex IT projects
