Cloud Engineer

As a cloud engineer, you will be working with the global Cloud Center of Excellence team members in USA, Costa Rica, China, and Warsaw to engineer cloud solutions, write/automate cloud provisioning scripts. You will also consult with multiple application teams throughout their journey to the cloud, providing cloud expertise and solutions to enable the business transformation in the cloud. You will also interact and support diverse IT workloads, including Business Intelligence, Big Data, transactional systems, web applications and many others. Your challenges will include learning and adopting fast changing cloud technologies, meeting various business demands and priorities, understanding and choosing architecturally sound solutions from a library of prebuilt patterns and strategic cloud hosting providers, as well as influencing our cloud reference architecture patterns. You will need to be proficient with influencing cross-functional teams as well as have executive communication skills to present to IT Leadership, Business partners and industry experts.

You will need to stay up to date with latest cloud technologies and opportunities including industry certifications (e.g., Azure, AWS, Puppet...) further investing in your professional development as a foundation of this role. Some international travel may be required for this role, and it's not expected to exceed 10-20% of time.

Qualifications

A solid understanding in architecture, network security, network protocols, platform security, platform standards, hardware configuration and security policies.

Technology Engineering: Ability to holistically conceptualize and model the use of evolving technologies across a broad set of business applications to translate business strategies and requirements into technical design and engineer a solution to meet the business demands.

System Design: Knowledge of system design procedures and the ability to translate functional business requirements into an applications or processes to meet clients' needs that also meets all relevant Company standards.

IT Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the key directional trends and emerging technologies in the Cloud Computing. Includes knowledge of the key vendors, their strategic and tactical plans, and internal/external advisory services.

Technical Writing: Knowledge of and ability to apply effective design principles to communicate complex and detailed information across various communication vehicles and global environments. Strong verbal communications demonstrating ability to deliver to all levels of staff and management.

Data, Security and Information Standards Integration: Knowledge of and ability to apply data, security and information standards in global applications. Includes the ability to identify the need for additional standards to meet business requirement for integrated information across the Company. Leadership/ Build Diverse & Collaborative Relationships: This role requires strong partnerships with strategic Cloud and Infrastructure Partners and internal customers. Must have the ability to influence decisions regarding Services being provided, as well as being able to adapt based on business needs. Strong leadership skills while being able to build relationships across the organization and Company boundaries are key to success.

AWS Certified Solution Architect - Associate Certificate or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) required.

One or more industry security certifications preferred (e.g. CISSP or CCNA Security).

Coding skilling in the following areas : DevOps, Git, Python, Powershell, Jason, AWS Cloud Formation Templates and Azure ARM templates

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of work. Master's degree a plus.

7+ years of relevant professional work experience, with at least 3+ years in a data center, cloud, network, network security, security architecture or security engineering type roles.

Working knowledge in one or more of the following:

Perimeter and interconnected systems security controls, firewalls, IDS/IPS, load balancers, content filters, network access control, and network segmentation.

DNS/DNS SEC, routing, authentication, VPN, proxy services, and DDOS mitigation technologies.

Developing security requirements for LAN, WAN, VPN, and DMZ architectures and routers, firewalls, and related network device configurations
