job description

Writer III

job summary:
**PORTFOLIOS / WRITING SAMPLES ARE REQUIRED WHEN SUBMITTING RESUMES.

  • YouTube is looking for a witty and quick-thinking copywriter and community manager for YouTube TV (YouTube's new live TV streaming service) to engage, delight, and grow our tech, sports, and TV-loving audience on social media.
  • The ideal candidate: you live and breathe TV, pop culture, live sports, and social media.
  • You're on top of tech, memes, and the latest trends, and know how to weave them into social copy and online banter (and know when they're played out).
  • You're gifted at translating everything from standard press releases to SYTYCD hot takes into 140 (ok, maybe 280) razor-sharp characters.
  • You'll be representing YouTube, which has the biggest brand social following on the planet. Candidates for this role should have quick humor and fantastic creative instincts to help discern what fits into the YouTube TV voice and what doesn't.
  • Responsibilities include writing, pitching and posting daily editorial content, monitoring sports stats and social trends, identifying television moments to lean into in real time, and active community management.
  • We are looking for a creative thought-partner who can rattle off ideas and think critically to help build best-in-class social campaigns that celebrate all of the shows and games you can watch when/wherever you want, thanks to YouTube TV.
  • Maybe you've worked at an agency, maybe you started a fantasy football podcast in 8th grade, maybe you have a background in social marketing, or maybe you're an investment banker who just gets it. If the qualities described above fit you to a T, issa match.
