Programmer/Analyst

job summary:
We have a contract to perm position for Programmer Analyst with a client of ours in RTP, NC. Experience with IBM iSeries (AS/400), RPG/ILE, CLP, DB2, SEU, PDM, CGIDEV2 and EDI, FTP is required. Responsible for designing and testing program logic, coding programs, program documentation and preparation of programs for

deployment. This position supports the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP), various North Carolina

State programs, the Imaging system and website/database applications as well.

Essential Functions:

? Gathers, assembles and authors Systems Analysis and project documentation.

? Codes, tests, debugs, documents and installs modified and new programs which are currently in any and

all computer systems. Including the Galahad system as implemented on the IBM midrange computer, the HEWIE/MERLIN systems, the IBM Content Management system and any future systems.

? Uses coding methods for specific programming language to enhance or initiate efficient program

execution and optimum hardware utilization.

? Monitors production programs for expected performance and responds to errors and emergency

problems.

? Works with specifications provided to meet programming assignment goals and objectives in a timely

and accurate manner.

? Identifies and fixes program flaws, both logical and technical, in the supported software applications as

they are reported.

Education: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred or an Associate's Degree from a 2 year school or 8 years programming experience.

Experience Required: Minimum 5+ years programming experience.
