Sr. System Engineer

job summary:
We are currently seeking a full time Sr. System Engineer for the Houston, TX area. An ideal candidate will perform in a technical role in the construction of a new global data management platform. Upon deployment of the solution, you will be expected to administrate, support and perform capacity planning for system components.

  • Participate in full development life cycle from definition to design to delivery
  • Meet aggressive deadlines with focus on technical quality and system performance
  • Collaboration with global team including participation in daily scrum meetings, peer reviews and design sessions
  • Deliver testable and maintainable globally distributed systems
 
qualifications:
Requirements:

  • 8+ years executing in a DevOps or System Engineer role for a global system
  • 8+ years of experience in implementing solutions utilizing cloud technologies (AWS required)
  • 5+ years of highly technical experience in implementing distributed enterprise solutions
  • Proven track record of deploying system components for high volume data solutions including utilization of caching and distribution technologies like Kafka and Redis, Tibco, RabbitMQ
  • Demonstrated expertise in setting up continuous integration/deployment solutions including Jenkins, Docker and Kubernetes
  • Working experience in building and owning successful system monitoring solutions
  • Capable of managing both Windows + Linux/Unix environments
  • Experience working with Oracle databases
  • Knowledgeable in SOA utilizing C# .NET web services.
  • Proficient in robust application architecture (polyglot/micro service environments, fault tolerance)
  • Experience working in an agile scrum development model
