Manager, IT Infrastructure

Summary

Operation and support of IT infrastructure (storage, network, compute, telephony, etc.), and manage the infrastructure team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with Director of Infrastructure and CIO to define IT strategy and budget
  • Manage it projects as they relate to infrastructure (server, network, storage, cloud, telephony, etc.)
  • Manage system administration staff across all technology disciplines
  • Maintain license and asset management systems
  • Execute infrastructure projects according to plan; maintaining budget and schedule
  • Work with manager of support to effectively maintain system uptime
  • Ensure team is compliant with change management protocols
  • Develop and maintain written policies to support the company
  • Develop and publish metrics, reports, and other data relevant to the position
  • Maintain compliance of systems and environment including external requirements (SOX, PCI, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Act as a point of escalation for technologists (including infrastructure, support, and security resources)
  • Manage internal budget and process invoice approvals
  • Contribute to process improvement by constantly refining service delivery model
  • Ensure high level of satisfaction from customers
  • Liaison with IT security to implement and maintain a secure infrastructure; evaluate efficacy of systems and research/recommend appropriate changes
  • Lead IT architecture discussions and drive projects which deliver results based on the desired architecture
  • Liaison between infrastructure and application development and business intelligence teams within IT and with business units outside of IT to provide information, gather requirements, and facilitate relevant discussions
  • Responsible for system uptime and availability which includes on-call support including nights and weekends
  • Develop, document, and train staff on remediation procedures for critical systems including shop floor systems (manufacturing, quality, etc.) as well as infrastructure and desktop/remote computing
  • Verbal and written status reports to IT leadership and business units on project status and issue resolution
  • Effective crisis management skills including the ability to direct technical resources and communicate status of issues to non-technical staff
  • Ability to drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to improve systems and infrastructure
Requirements

Qualifications/Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science and or related discipline
  • 10 years+ of strong technical background in an enterprise environment.
  • Previous management experience and solid project management methodology skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Desired experience with multiple technologies covering virtualization, san, telephony, enterprise networking, disaster recovery solutions, oracle, and video conferencing.
  • Maintains safe operations and work area by adhering to all safety, health and quality programs procedures and initiatives.
  • This position requires on-call availability for emergency support
  • This position requires occasional travel and may require and long periods of standing, walking, and working on a manufacturing machine shop environment
  • Comfortable using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required for specified activities.
