Senior Project Manager

job summary:
Will receive assignments in the form of business requirements and establish plans to meet those objectives. They will work with a team of subject matter experts to resolve problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. The PM will exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to project obstacles. May participate in the development of funding proposals. Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules. Establishes and recommends changes to policies which affect the business units or the organization. Frequently interacts with customers and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management. Interactions normally involve projects between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company. In some instances, this position may be responsible for subordinate employees.

The project manager will comply with established PMO policies and procedures. He/She will be assessed in the overall health of the his\her assigned projects, taking into consideration those factors that are within his\her control:

- Reporting and Communication: Project Managers should develop relationships and become a common point of reference for their project stakeholders throughout the business. Through their professional relationships, the project manager should be able to independently raise risk and issues, develop solutions with the stakeholders, and report it back to their manager.

o Provide a weekly updated project plan to the resources he/she has tasked and to the PMO leadership.

o Provide a weekly updated status report to project stakeholders.

- Project Execution: Project Managers will schedule projects to adhere to the software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology, with special attention to the appropriate readiness reviews. By adhering to the SDLC methodology and in close collaboration with the technical managers and product owners, the project manager should continuously strive to lead a project team to achieve high quality results with strict scope adherence that is completed on time and on budget.

- Project managers primary focus with projects will be communicating and documenting risk, issues, and tracking action items of the project. They will manage a change management process, helping to assist with project obstacles, and have a detailed plan. Through those contributions they contribute to the overall health of a project with special attention to scope completion, quality, budget, and timelines.

- Demand Management: Project Managers in conjunction with IT Work Force Management are responsible for coordinating the scheduling of resources within the capacity of their area of responsibility. Conflicts of prioritization of projects should be resolved within conjunction of leadership from IT and Business.

- Resource Allocation: Project Managers will ensure the resources on their projects are assigned in the most effective and economical manner in partnership with the IT Resource Manager.

- Project Managers will work with their teams to identify solutions. They will be subject matter experts within their field, but look for business and technical experts to provide decisions and have vision for their project or product.

- Project Managers work in collaboration with the Implementation Manager and Customer Managers to communicate risks, issues, and the timelines of a project. Any additional roles outside of managing the project will be done in consultation with the Project Manager's direct supervisor.

He/She will exemplify the established iCARE principles across the teams and projects he/she leads. This will be assessed by his/her manager providing their personal observations and by surveying his/her team members and project stake holders on a periodic interval throughout the year to provide their observations on each of the iCARE principles:
