Firewall Engineer - Rule Analysis

job summary:
Firewall Engineer

Your Responsibilities: As a Firewall Engineer, you will manage the availability, uptime and strategy of our fortune clients global footprint to meet the security and enterprise business goals of moving 1000 legacy applications from our data centers to the cloud. This includes leading and directing the overall architecture design for firewalls, policies, rules and audits.

In addition, you will:

  • Lead the analysis and help facilitate the overall design of our perimeter security posture specific to the DC applications that will migrate to the cloud
  • Define the firewall technology roadmap for policies and rules within the data centers and the cloud
  • Lead teams of technical, cross-functional resources to mitigate security concerns, architecture issues and vendor defects
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams like network, cloud, and security groups to ensure Enterprise compliance, high availability and long-term viability of key solutions
  • Work with project management staff and business sponsors to make sure that our perimeter security platforms meet the business requirements including growth
  • Act as a tier 3 or 4 resource for high visibility data center security or connectivity issues
  • Act as a security "subject matter expert" (SME) regarding security architecture, connectivity, and threat analysis.
What Skills You Need:

  • 5 or more years of experience with Enterprise firewalls (e.g. Checkpoint, Juniper, Cisco, etc.)
  • 5 or more years of experience with data center or cloud support
  • Experience working with APIs with multiple Integration tools and patterns (Servicenow, Ansible, Python, etc.)
  • Experience working with support teams located in different physical locations including international locations
  • Experience building, deploying, monitoring, and supporting systems using a management console based architecture
  • Experience delivering projects using an agile methodology and development practices
What Makes You Stand Out:

  • Remote Access support or previous networking experience
  • Experience using Lean Service Management practices used to deliver infrastructure quality
  • Experience with Industry Standard Security Protocols (e.g. SSO, OAuth, SAML, CIMS, EUA, RBAC)
  • Experience using Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud tools and technologies
  • Experience using and managing virtual platforms (Cloudguard, VSEC, etc)
  • Working knowledge of PKI and cryptography
