job summary:
One of our Taylor clients is looking to add a resource to develop, support and provide expertise with Atlassian tools, such as JIRA and Confluence in delivering an IT Service Management system that aligns to the IT Transformation IT Service Management (ITSM) Strategy. Ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and team leadership skills, able to work well with groups at an inter-department level, has a consultative approach and problem solving abilities to enable our users to operate more effectively. Understanding of ITIL v.2011 framework for IT Service Management is paramount.

This role will be part of the clients Transformation Team in support of project coordination activities related to ITIL and ITSM, including but not limited to project management, knowledge management, content management, incident management, problem management, change management, service design, service operations, service transition and continual service improvement.

Works independently and with the guidance of IT Transformation Architects to develop a comprehensive program for managing and executing ITSM and ITIL knowledge areas. Leads efforts to validate project tasks, project content, business processes, procedures, systems, services in order to complete deliverables and tasks.

    • Production Integration Design and Implementation
    • Native Confluence Plugin Management, Design and Implementation

responsibilities:
  • Analyze and understand solution requirements, architecture, technical designs and processes in order to define necessary scope of service management.
  • Lead IT Transformation work streams as needed.
  • Define knowledge management and work load strategy required by IT Transformation Office.
  • Communicate strategy to relevant disciplines/stakeholders clearly and appropriately.
  • Liaise with other management and IT disciplines to ensure work stream objectives are met.
  • Participate when required in formal meetings with customers and subcontractors.
  • Report to management on automated testing and quality requirements/activities, to identify deviations from plan and carry out corrective action.
  • Performs automated functional, system, integration and regression testing
  • Clearly communicates complex technical concepts both in a written and oral manner
  • Implement and develop automated test practices for both web and thick client applications primarily using Selenium 3 and TestNG, but also HP UFT.
  • Design and create test automation scripts using JAVA and/or VB Script to address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug testing, or usability in preparation for implementation.
  • Work with IT Transformation Office and CIO Leadership and Management teams to define tactics and process associated with implementation and maintenance of service management across all supported application areas, as per IT Transformation ITSM Strategy.
  • Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules or potential problems that may impact the overall ITSM design using the Atlassian tools.
 
qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a software analyst/engineer role required. Responsible for test coordination, planning scripting and execution for all applications that comprises an entire business application suite. Provides planning for integration release test plan and ensures all business application owners have reviewed and signed off by deadline.
  • Provides expert knowledge of business processes related to supported application area and is considered subject matter expert.
  • Advanced skills in development of test automation and management of test automation framework as appropriate.
  • Experienced in risk analysis, trend reporting, communications and negotiations.
  • Technical expert in all testing tools to provide appropriate maintenance and operational support.
Experience Required

  • 5+ years (in excess of degree requirements stated above) of progressively responsible experience in IT Infrastructure or Application Development environments.
  • 5+ years content development experience with any combination of web architecture frameworks
  • Experience with the planning, deployment, and maintenance of large service and content environments.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, creating, and managing integration projects against large enterprise class systems.
  • 5+ years of experience with web-based applications and supporting technologies.
  • Ability to develop and deploy custom plugins for Jira and/or Confluence
  • 5+ years working with JavaScript and other scripting languages
  • 5+ years working with ITIL and ITSM frameworks
  • Extensive experience integrating Atlassian tools using REST API's.
  • Experience building custom user macros for Jira and/or Confluence. Strong Atlassian Confluence Development and Content Management
  • 5+ years of experience with one of various scripting languages (i.e. JavaScript, Jscript, Perl, Korn-Shell, etc.).
  • 5+ years of a strong basic technical background. This includes general software development (SDLC) practices.
  • 5+ years of experience with web-based applications and supporting technologies.
  • Experience working with GUI object recognition and customization.
  • Ability to work well with a team.
  • Familiarity with general concepts surrounding web services and web applications. This includes web technologies such as HTML 5, CSS, and JQuery.
  • Familiarity with common source control systems and configuration management.
  • Familiarity with general concepts surrounding XML and Oracle RDBMS.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Proven ability to deliver quality results in a busy and dynamic business focused environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable in both, a UNIX and Windows based environment.
  • Experience with general infrastructure and software development life cycle practices.
  • Strong Project Management/Coordination
  • Strong structured data management in Excel, Splunk, SQL
  • Familiarity with SharePoint Content Management
EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences, Information Systems or related field or eight years applicable experience is required.
