Senior Controller

job summary:
Our client has a permanent opportunity for a Senior Controller in Sacramento, CA.

This position provides leadership on finance and accounting strategy to optimize our client's financial performance and strategic position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide partnership and guidance in all finance related matters in support of reaching financial objectives.
  • Manage a team of self-independent Controllers
  • Drive the financial strategic planning process, including development of short- and long-term strategic plans
  • Identify relevant measures and drive accountability for on-going performance against business and strategic objectives by preparing for and help leading regular business review processes.
  • Responsible for the financial translation of business issues and developments
  • Lead quantitative and qualitative analytical work that unlocks business insights and drives sound decision-making on key business issues
  • Lead and coordinate the budget, estimate and long range planning processes with the team
  • Understanding the business and initiate opportunities for improvement
  • Evaluate investment requests and business contracts and provide Management advice
  • Challenge the overall performance and initiate improvement proposals
  • Proactive approach to smarter, cost effective support and implementation models that challenge status quo
  • Ability to work in an extremely dynamic, fast paced environment
Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; performance evaluations; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained on tasks and safety requirements.
Qualifications

  • Master's degree in accounting, finance or relevant field with 10+ years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA preferred.
  • May be required to have a valid driver's license.
