Our client has a 6+ month contract opportunity for a Technical Artist in Las Vegas, NV.

Our client is looking to grow its multi-talented team of artists. Located in fabulous Las Vegas, NV, our client prides itself in designing industry-leading games that set new standards for content and playability. Our client is a passionate group of Artists, Engineers, Designers and Producers looking to innovate and push casino games to new heights of visual excellence and player experience.

They have an ambitious line-up for this game development cycle and are recruiting a Technical Artist with exceptional design, technical, and organizational skills who can help us achieve our creative goals! As a Technical Artist, you'll work with the Producers, Third Parties, Staff Artist, and Engineers to define the overall look and style of games. You'll oversee every Art asset - from concept to completion - and guide a multi-disciplinary team, leading games from our imaginations to the floors of casinos worldwide.

When you work for our client, you work for the industry leader in casino gaming!

- Engage in the development of multiple original titles concurrently

- In collaboration with the Third Parties, Management, and Producer, advise or devise the overall visual style of games

- Own or assist in peripheral areas of Design (UI, branding, game rules, attracts, text, cabinet Lighting, special effects, animation, particle systems, rigging, real-time lighting, and 3D graphics and models).

- Assist game Engineers in object-oriented scripting, animation chorography, shader and material creation.

- Provide technical-artistic support to the engineer during the game-production. Support would include deciphering content, folder structure of the content, troubleshooting, re-works for time considerations and better development, and corrections.

- Manipulate existing art to make games available in other platforms or cabinets.

- Support Marketing with screenshots, machine comps, and various content.

- Provide Third Party technical support during pre-production and production of the game. Support would be including the planning of technical-artistic elements of the game, what content is needed, how to deliver content, troubleshooting, and corrections.

- Test different layouts, models, textures, animation, rendering, lighting techniques and tools to fully utilize our state-of-the-art game engine.

- Confirm the level of polish and rendering quality is suitable to gaming industry standards and meet expectations of stakeholders.

- Understand quality verses business need: availability of resources, time for development, and urgency of time to market must be considered in determining appropriate level of quality.

- Deliver and maintain content according to procedures (use established file format, naming conventions, and folder structure).

- Accurately prepare and technically support the content based on game requirements and for the appropriate platform. Follow a multi-step product development process that ensures game content consistency and adherence to full project timeline.

- Verify accuracy in delivered content through processing, exportation, and comparisons with game documents.

- Know applicable studio procedures for technical art standards.

- Use established processes/procedures for translation requests and source control.

- Help develop and update clear processes, procedures, and template games as necessary.

- Attend player testing sessions and respond to feedback

- Attend daily meetings to evaluate progress and share feedback

- Deliver assets on time, according to studio roadmap/schedule. Meet internal and external milestones and due dates.

- Participate in scheduling discussions and create accurate estimates. If dates cannot be met, communicate early with PM and management; work with team to find solution.

- Stay current on industry-standard and our client's tools and applications with regard to content creation and platform manipulation.

- Maintain global view of game - Inventory of all assets, Production status, Development Milestones

- Make visual-excellence and team-support top priorities

Required Qualifications

- Degree in Art and 5-7 years of Game Art or Agency experience

- Professional portfolio demonstrating your Senior-level experience in layout/composition, illustration, graphic design, color theory, typography, animation, special effects, 3D graphics and/or scripting (object oriented).

- Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) plus 3D software of your choice

- Ability to design in a variety of artistic styles

- Advanced creative, technical, and organizational skills

- Ability to work with a large degree of independence

- Practice good humor and be responsive to feedback

- Mentor fellow Artists and team members - providing guidance in their specialty, troubleshoot issues, estimate time/effort involved in assignments

- Maintain awareness of larger game/team objectives and accommodate changing priorities

- In touch with visual trends in Entertainment - Television, Film, Mobile and Console Games
