IT Manager

job summary:
The IT Manager is responsible for working with functional representatives to create IT solutions to address business challenges. In addition, this role designs and leads the implementation of network, software and hardware solutions within the company to fulfill effective and efficient business processes. This role is also responsible for managing existing processes, systems and third party providers as well as coordinating security, compliance and integrated systems. This position reports to the Executive Vice President.

responsibilities:
  • Facilitates and oversees development of team goals and team members for NCR Counterpoint and Microsoft Dynamics SL Applications (principally) and maintains department budget & forecast
  • Manages, improves, and develops processes for functional areas
  • Participates in the design, implementation, and support of the software, hardware and network systems to meet growth, service reliability requirements, and problem management
  • Leads NCR Counterpoint application development including fostering innovation, planning projects, organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources
  • Maintains relationships with key consumers of departmental services and addresses concerns as they arise
  • Defines milestones and deliverables for all projects and support issues per PMI or ITIL standards and supports project management initiatives
  • Provides in-depth analysis and status reports to functional department heads
  • Assists and participates with Change Management preparations and implementations, providing technical subject matter expertise
  • Supports and implements NCR Counterpoint, Microsoft Dynamics SL, and other applications
  • Evaluates, recommends and implements IT solutions to optimize application quality and access; including retail technology and business information/analysis platforms
  • Manages security of data, network access and backup systems to maintain PCI compliance in coordination with parent company
  • Manage asset inventory, network diagrams, and documentation of IT-related policies and procedures
 
qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, IT, Computer Science or similar field
  • Requires 9 years of job related experience; retail or hospitality industry experience preferred
  • Requires 4-5 years of experience using POS and Financial Management Applications
  • Requires experience with computer networks
  • Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with individuals
 
skills:
  • Requires experience with Windows and Unix operating systems.
  • Requires experience working with projects including writing/documenting technical procedures or training
  • Requires strong technical skills, as well as the ability to work independently with multiple tasks
  • Requires strong oral, written and interpersonal skills and must be customer service oriented
  • Requires ability to work in a team environment
  • Requires basic keyboarding or other repetitive motions
