Our client is seeking a SQL Server Database Administrator Manager for a Direct Hire full time opportunity in Charlotte, NC or Folsom, CA.

Job Description:

Client has an excellent opportunity for a SQL Server DBA Manager to join the existing team of experienced DBA's who are responsible for the design, development, upgrade, maintenance and overall performance planning of the database environments. The successful candidate will become involved in databases throughout their life-cycle from project inception to ongoing support and decommissioning of the databases.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops, implements, administers, and maintains policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company databases.
  • Proactive monitoring and maintenance of SQL Servers for performance, security, stability, and recovery.
  • Evaluation and enhancement of existing database architecture to support new features, performance improvements, upgrades, and ongoing sustainment.
  • Lead efforts to design and implement changes to data models for new and existing applications.
  • Development of ETL processes utilizing SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Participate in all aspects of the application lifecycle: requirements analysis & definition, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and sustainment.
  • Learn relevant business processes and understand & manage the data flow, criticality and dependencies.
  • Design and develop database infrastructure for the company's BI needs.
  • Participate in 24x7 On Call rotation.
  • Creating solutions architecture, algorithms, and designs for solutions that scale to the customer's enterprise/global requirements
  • Lead a team of 4 Database Engineers to apply engineering practices and implement automations across all elements of solution delivery.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar field of study.
  2. 8 - 10 years of experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining SQL Server infrastructures.
  3. Extensive experience writing T-SQL and stored procedures and code tuning on high transaction systems.
  4. Experienced in Data Modeling, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) .
  5. Experienced in ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) development / data integration with external data sources and SQL Server.
  6. Experienced in BIML (Business Intelligence Markup Language) and SQL CLR .
  7. Proficient with SQL server profiler for monitoring and troubleshooting database activity and performance.
  8. Experience in SQL Server Clustering and HA technologies including mirroring, log shipping, failover cluster and various replication technologies would be an advantage.
  9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  10. Innovative approach to work, constantly looking for upgrading the system to more efficient and effective new technologies.
  11. Demonstrate high ethical standards regarding the company's treatment of confidential information/ policy.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  1. MCSA SQL certification preferred.
