Sr. Development Ops

job summary:
  • Design and develop technical solutions to complex applications problems and system administration issues that are critical to the development of Client's design products.
  • Coordinate with a technical team to develop the architecture for the next generation of Client's product platform, advancing the platform for subscriptions, order processing and entitlements.
  • Design, manage, and maintain tools to automate engineering operations. Build highly scalable and highly available distributed systems.
  • Apply technical expertise and experience in continuous delivery and methodologies on AWS and expertise in supporting and maintaining cloud-based platforms.
  • Own and drive initiatives spanning multiple company organizations to automate engineering operations.
  • Enable engineering teams to ship product features following agile methods. Support and maintain cloud-based platforms and unix-based infrastructure.
  • Apply prior technical expertise automating deployments using Docker containers. Implement CI/CD with tools like Jenkins or AWS Code Deploy, building pipelines for zero-downtime, blue/green or Canary deployments.
  • Monitor availability and performance of production systems and configure monitoring systems and alerts to keep the high availability required for the subscriptions' platform.

responsibilities:
Requirements

1) Developing and on AWS platform using open source tools like terraform, cloudformation.

2) Building micro services infrastructure to support service growth, adding deployment flexibility, scalability and high availability.

3) Utilizing the following technologies to help optimize performance, security, and scalability in the architecture used to run the subscription platform:

  • Jenkins
  • GIT
  • Java
  • Continuous Integration
  • Continuous Delivery
  • Docker / AWS ECS
4) Analyzing current costs in AWS and preparing capacity and estimated costs for future growth.

5) Developing and implementing Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans. Performing regular disaster recovery tests

6) Developing and implementing zero downtime deployments pipeline using tools like Cloudbees Jenkins, Jenkins OSS, AWS Code Deploy or similar.

7) Installing, administering, maintaining and securing installations of Java based application servers like Weblogic, Jboss, Tomcat, Wildfly in multi-server deployment with High Availability.

8) Monitoring production systems. Setting up alerts and notifications. Supporting production deployments and providing procedures and documentation for troubleshooting alerts. Experience with logging systems like:

  • Splunk
  • Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana
  • 12) Administering and supporting multiple data persistence storage in complex environments, such as:
  • Kafka, Kinesis, RabbitMQ and AWS SQS
  • MySQL and AWS RDS
  • DynamoDB
  • Elasticsearch
  • AWS S3
