job summary:
We have a 2 month contract opportunity for a Data Architect in the greater Sacramento area.

Position Summary:

The Data Architect is responsible for the strategic oversight and planning of data models and database structural design within the client's Shared Services. This individual oversees the design, evaluation, selection, implementation and support of major databases and metadata structures and reviews and evaluates database performance. Additionally this position will monitor industry trends and directions and presents substantive technical recommendations to senior management. The Data Architect develops data and metadata policies and procedures for structural design and development to build, maintain and leverage data models while ensuring integration with corporate data standards. This position will be accountable for providing extensive technical, strategic advice and guidance to management and technical resources in the creation and implementation of new data standards and databases.

responsibilities:
Principal Accountabilities:

  1. Work collaboratively with all levels of business stakeholders to architect, implement and test data solutions from disparate sources.
  2. Conduct business analysis, event modeling, logical and physical database design, database optimization, load strategy design and implementation, security and change management.
  3. Design scalable enterprise data architectures and solutions.
  4. Champion architectural vision and direction across a matrix of teams.
  5. Knowledge of industry data standards and architectures.
  6. Ability to effectively diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex problems pertaining to data infrastructure.
  7. Ability to evaluate and make recommendations regarding data integrity.
  8. Ability to develop methods of ensuring data incompatibilities among systems is systematically eliminated.
  9. Ability to maintain currency on tools, methodologies, and technologies.
  10. Ability to translate complex technical terminology, concepts and issues in terms understandable to technical and non-technical management and resources staff.
  11. Strong interpersonal skills to resolve problems in a professional manner, lead working groups, negotiate and create consensus.
  12. Strong healthcare domain knowledge including experience with transaction standards (e.g. HIPAA, X12, or HL7) and system implementation (web portal, HIE, EMR or EHR).
  13. Other duties as required.

Minimum Position Requirements

  1. Education
  1. Bachelor degree in Information Systems or related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  1. Experience/Knowledge
  1. Minimum of 5+ years of data architecture experience, and must have a proven track record delivering enterprise data solutions and possess excellent communication skills.
  2. Completed at least two full data warehouse projects (with enterprise or line-of-business scope) across multiple database platforms.
  3. Ability to scope data work, and to create data strategies and roadmaps.
  4. Minimum of 5+ years of experience creating presentations and technical design documents.
  5. Detailed understanding data specific modeling techniques.
  6. Minimum of 5+ years of Enterprise data warehouse experience
  7. Expert with data modeling tools such as ERwin, ER/Studio or Power Designer.
  8. Minimum of 5+ years of experience with at least one BI tool, such as PowerBI, Tableau, Cognos, MicroStrategy.
  9. Minimum of 5+ years of experience with dimensional and 3NF modeling.
  10. Minimum of 5+ years of experience with OLTP and OLAP.
  11. Minimum of 5+ years of operational experience with complex data integration systems.
  12. Demonstrated experience working with Business Intelligence and Intra/Internet environments.
  13. Focus on security and protecting PII
  14. Significant knowledge and understanding of information technology concepts including a strong knowledge of computer systems hardware and software.
  15. Demonstrated knowledge of current and new trends and opportunities in the information technology field.
  16. Ability to work with and through people to establish goals, objectives, and action plans.
  17. Ability to drive quality into the company culture by contributing to internal initiatives.
  18. Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the business/client environment, systems, applications and technological alternatives.

    4. Microsoft Windows servers and architecture
