Contracts Analyst

job summary:
The Global Commercial Contract Analyst will manage critical client Commercial data management

activities across all franchises and regions. The analyst will assist the Global Commercial Data

Management team with US, International, and all Franchise commercial data acquisition, governance and


The position will serve as a point of contact for IMS and other data vendors and will work with the brand,

franchise, regional and corporate cross functional partners to ensure contracts are executed appropriately

and data sets are available for use.

The Global Commercial Contract Analyst will support the Global Commercial Data Team in procuring cost

effective, efficient, and compliant global commercial data. The ideal candidate will have experience with

data procurement, project management, contract reporting, ad-hoc analysis, and cross functional support.

In addition, the ideal candidate will have experience within a Pharmaceutical Commercial department &

has experience with analytics, project management and customer service.It is preferred for the analyst to

understand core data systems and processes related to Commercial Operations and Analytics.

% of Time Job Function and Description

20%- Vendor Management

- Execute and monitor key commercial data procurement and delivery activities, manage data inventory,

and associated contracts.

- Develop, process, and distribute weekly/monthly commercial data procurement reports for US and

International Commercial Data Management functions

40%- Contracts Oversight & Project Management

- Write, review, and approve documentation (contracts, statements of work, data requirements, training

guides, contract procurement process, etc.)

- Own and run weekly status meetings regarding commercial data procurement requests and standard


- Assist Data Managers in maintaining and enhancing commercial data request processes

- Create and maintain reports on vendor contract and TPA template updates and issues for review by

team leadership

- Manage, refine, and execute on evolving commercial data team's reporting needs

- Have the ability to influence and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction is


- Leverage people, process, and technology to achieve continuous and sustainable improvements in

commercial data management effectiveness and efficiency

- Align closely with the Global Data Management Team to ensure consistency and best practice sharing

where appropriate

- Continue to develop, document, and implement global processes to ensure compliance and


40%- Commercial Data Contract Execution & Process Management

- Act as departmental liaison with Data Vendors, Procurement, and Legal to process all the necessary

SOWs and POs required for purchasing data and related professional services

- Manage PO accrual process to assure invoicing and payments are aligned with contract terms

- Develop, implement, and maintain the culture of Commercial Excellence by ensuring top quality

deliverables/services to our business customers

- Provide support for regularly scheduled enhancements to existing contracting systems including

managing requested changes and priority, gathering requirements and documentation, development

status, testing, training, communications and release

Experience & Knowledge

- Bachelor's degree preferably in business, sciences, or related analytical field

- Three plus years of experience supporting the information and operation requirements of

pharmaceutical commercial teams

- Experience executing commercial data contract management

- Strong written and oral communication and management skills

- Preferably, but not mandatory Knowledge of pharmaceutical Commercial Sales and Prescription data

from external vendors including IMS Health, Symphony Health, Fingertip Formulary, etc.

- Experience with reporting and analytical packages essential

- Demonstrated business acumen


- The individual must be self-motivated, a team player, have excellent verbal and written communication

skills and possess the ability to manage simultaneous projects, prioritizing based on business

criticality/needs, in a demanding environment

- A strong background in project management and contract management

- Ability to influence without formal authority

- Ability to effectively interact with leadership

- Strong sense of urgencyand proactivity

- Experience with commercial contracting systems (i.e Axxerion)

- Knowledge of data privacy laws especially those that uniquely effect the pharmaceutical industry

- Strong analytical skills

- Knowledge of pharmaceutical sales operations

- Experience with reporting and analytical tools within the Pharmaceutical Industry is preferred

- Demonstrated experience of how reports and analytics support and direct pharmaceutical sales and

marketing promotional activities
