Project Manager

job summary:
Our client is in need of a Project Manager in Sacramento, CA. This will start out as a 12 month contract.

This role will provide environmental analysis and strategic assessment of IT dependencies for Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS) capabilities. The individual will assess the current and future state of technology projects, processes, policies and tasks that are related to CTMS development for clinical operations and research. Assessment of readiness for external vendor developed CTMS will be required. The Project Manager will be responsible for developing project plans, timeline, outline strategy proposals, and providing regular status updates to the Program Manager and IT Leadership.

Hours: 40 hours per week - Position may be required to occasionally work outside traditional business hours to meet the critical needs of the Information Technology division.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 8 years IT project management experience required.
  • Experience with Infrastructure or application projects associated with clinical medicine or research required.
  • Ability to create reports and briefs for senior management required.
  • Experience working with a wide variety of technical and non-technical staff at all levels is required
  • Knowledge and experience in the areas or research compliance, patient privacy, and clinical operations is preferred.
  • PMP or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with system interfaces is preferred.
  • Experience in academic institution or large integrated healthcare environment is preferred.
  • Experience managing institutional IT resources preferred.
Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the planning, configuration, implementation, and evaluation of any relevant information systems in support of Clinical Trial Management System adoption and integration at our client.
  1. Development of RFPs aligned with our clients strategic needs
  1. Work with various IT Teams, Office of Research, Compliance, and other related groups to manage CTMS strategy.
  1. Develop documentation related to policies and processes based on interviewing SME's in clinical operations, Research IT, Compliance and office of research.
  1. Independently schedule, lead, and document project meetings with IT staff, end users/stakeholders and vendors. Document meeting minutes, follow up tasks, issues, and key decisions
  1. Consult with Program Manager, IT Leadership, Office of Research and stakeholders to ensure project is in line with overall strategic plans.
  1. Manage action items, issue logs, and deliverables from vendors and internal staff.
