Location Note: Travel/relocation expenses are included in the bill rate. Positions are based in the Twin Cities.

Travel Requirements: 5-10% Travel, any travel expenses for the position will be reimbursed.

Seeking creative, passionate, engineering minded design engineer looking for an environment with a core set of values anchored in trust, autonomy and a relentless focus on user experience. At Client, we've

recently established a dedicated team of software engineers whose sole responsibility is to rapidly develop software solutions with and for our business partners and customers. Across all of our busineses,

we are embarking on a journey to digitatlize our product lines, and this team will act in partnership with our businesses to bootstrap those digital offerings.

We are seeking to staff another design engineer on this team. Strong candidates will have strong tendencies towards human centered design and experience leveraging UX design tools (such as Sketch) and

be able to work with business partners to understand the objectives of the software and be able to translate that elegant and user intuitive designs. The design engineer will then partner with small software

engineering teams (typically teams of 2-3) that will deliver working software features.

Our team positions ourselves similar to a product development shop, in that we invite our business partners and customers to engage us in their digitalization transformation, where we provide them working

software prototypes as part of their discovery activities. We place users at the center of our universe, leveraging DevOps tooling to facilitate feedback loops that often times are less than a day. In that spirit,

it's essential that you be both well rounded and willing to learn new technologies in a short amount of time to support the goals of the work.

Principal Accountabilities

Describe in detail 4-5 major position responsibilities/duties, not tasks, listing the most important first.

80% Prototyping/Designing

- Work closely with product owners and users, translating user research and product requirements into elegant and intuitive designs

- Leverage professional design tools (such as Sketch) to deliver mock-ups and 'click-able' simulations to inspire the engineers to deliver on the design.

- Work with external partners to develop solutions based on User Design Thinking and Customer centric approachbility to conceptualize product goals, functionality, design direction and overall vision

- Capable of designing concrete ideas, experiences and interactions

20% Partner in Workshop Facilitation

- Actively participate in UX Design workshops with our Sr. UX Design engineer and product coaches as they walk our business partners through professional design frameworks that generate the learnings

necessary to inform design.

- Translate paper/white-board prototypes into high fidelity mock-ups and designs leveraging

- Demonstrated ability to be successful in ambiguous situations and a fast paced and changing environment

Skill Expectations

- Ability to effectively communicate design decisions to team members and project stakeholders on a regular basis

- Working knowledge of front-end code (e.g., HTML, CSS, Javascript) and responsive web design (RWD)

- Experience crafting, organizing and maintaining design assets such as style guides, component/pattern libraries, prototypes/examples and product branding

- Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, XP, Lean, Kanban, or SAFe)

- Results oriented and customer centric

- Relationship building expertise with ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, customers and external alliances
