Support Engineer

job summary:
This position involves a blend of Software development, QA testing, onsite implementation/installation as well as being part of the first line of on-call support to troubleshoot and resolve customer reported technical and operational issues. The most important attributes we are looking for, in order of importance:

responsibilities:
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide customer support to help assist with operational and system issues - Participate in after-hours on-call support rotation - Up to 20% travel to support customer implementations - Take responsibility for multiple tasks in multiple projects simultaneously - Review existing code and make required modifications - Submit all designs and code modifications for peer review - Write, maintain and execute test plans

 
qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

- B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, and 2+ years of relevant work experience - Strong problem-solving skills - Strong written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills - Familiarity with relational databases (MySQL preferred) - Familiarity with distributed systems - Prefer experience with Python and C development - Strongly prefer Linux command-line experience - Prior technical support experience is a plus - Prior QA experience is a plus - Experience developing or testing with .NET is a plus
