job summary:
Looking for several Business Data Analyst for six month contracts in southern Maine.

Candidates in southern maine are preferred but remote candidates that are available immediately and could travel to maine for two weeks of training would also be considered.

****Important Information: (1) Candidates must be available to work December 26th through December 31st, 2018,

(2) Candidates that are local to Maine are preferred; however, all U.S. geographically based candidates will be considered. If an alternate work location agreement is made, candidates will still be required to travel to our Maine office for 1-2 weeks at the start of the assignment to complete onboarding and begin planning assignments.

SUMMARY OF DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Summary: The main function of a Data Governance Analyst is to support the business line's Data Governance Team and Data Steward with completing data related deliverables in projects and other bank initiatives. A Data Governance analyst will typically review data requirements to ensure they align with policy, review source to target mapping to ensure data quality and lineage are accurate, identify and map data for ingestion into data warehouses, creating automated data quality test scripts, reviewing test execution results, and prepare weekly update summaries.

responsibilities:
Job Responsibilities:

- Gather requirements from business and technology teams and review for policy adherence

- Review business and technical data requirements to ensure proper data sourcing

- Analyze data and technical requirements to identify potential data quality issues and impacts to downstream users.

- Update and manage business line metadata dictionaries

- Perform data quality testing and prepare analytical analysis reports

- Perform analysis on business line's systems and processes to identify gaps requiring remediation to adhere to enterprise standards

- Prepare data ingestion forms for new data to be ingested into data warehouse

- Analyze data and technical requirements to identify potential data quality issues and impacts to downstream users.

- Gather and prepare data for reporting dashboards

 
qualifications:
MUST HAVE:

- Proficient knowledge of data governance/data management practices, enterprise data policy, standards &strategy

- Proficient knowledge of M&A due diligence process, LOB data strategy, data risk management, and data life cycle management

- Knowledge of current and emerging competitor and market trends

- Skill in using analytical software tools, data analysis methods and reporting techniques

- Skill in mentoring/coaching others

- Skill in using computer applications including MS Office, Clarity, Tableau, Sharepoint, SQL

- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form

- Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships

- Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently

- Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions

- Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines

- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
