Network Engineer

job summary:
Develops specifications for complex systems, design, and test voice and/or data communications solutions. Designs complex system upgrades. Leads the evaluation of vendor proposals, conducts network studies and traffic analyses, develops network architectures, prepares forecasts of network traffic and capacity, and recommends modifications to the network configurations that reduce costs or improve service. Serves as a high level technical resource on large-scale voice and/or data communications issues. May direct or serve as a mentor to less experienced staff.: 7+ years network engineering experience.

responsibilities:
In depth experience of F5 load balancers on v11 and v12 is required. Ability to implement changes, troubleshoot configurations and upgrade LTM and GTM devices is required.

 
qualifications:
7+ years network operations or network engineering experience.

3+ years F5 load balancing experience in a large scale enterprise experience

Strong Unix OS knowledge

2 years work experience in technical support role working with relevant networking technologies

Experience working with LAN and WAN topologies, TCP/IP protocol, routers, switches, and firewalls in Internet, Intranet and Extranet environments

Experience configuring and troubleshooting F5 OS version, 11.x and 12.x

DNS (Unix) Administrator Server experience/Product Knowledge

Knowledge of networking and security concepts, including, networking protocols, interoperation with firewalls balancers Experience implementing mid-level and complex changes to production environments, including evaluation, design, execution, and QA

Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Recent large scale/multi-site operational experience, focus on fault tolerance and availability

Preferred Qualifications

F5 Certified BIG-IP Certification Experience configuring and troubleshooting F5 OS version 11.x, 12.x

Web Server and/or application administration experience Microsoft NT and Red Hat Linux

3 years System Administration experience Scripting

Experience with GateD, NameD, SSH, TCP dump, OSPF, BGP, static and dynamic routing

Perl/C++/Python coding experience

 
skills: Experience implementing and supporting GTM and iRules in an enterprise environment
