Research Analyst III

job summary:
Position Description General:

  • Assists with Office Hours moderation
  • Creates and updates research tracker in collaboration with PGM.
  • Adds completed studies to Datavis & Google research archive
Internal Team Studies:

  • Supports recruiting logistics (room booking, scheduling, creating screeners with guidance from FTE)
  • Takes notes on sessions when available
  • Assists with analysis and reporting Partner Rolling Studies (usability & concept testing):
  • TVC helps implement a Rolling Study program with the goal to better support ongoing partnerships
  • Manages study intake forms - Oversees session logistics (scheduling, room booking)
  • Collaborates with partners to create research plans & mod guides
  • Moderates study sessions - Analyzes & reports findings to partnering team
  • Adds research to Datavis archive and broader

  • Coordinate stakeholder recruiting - Assist in coordinating stakeholder input
 
qualifications:
BA/BS degree in Anthropology, Human Factors, Psychology, HCI/Computer Science or other related fields or equivalent practical experience

 
skills: Skill/Experience/Education

Mandatory

  • At least 1 year industry experience conducting user research
  • Familiarity with data visualization design and principles
  • Comfortable using Google editor tools, especially Sheets, Slides, and Docs
  • Experience with one or more of the following methods: usability studies, concept tests, benchmarks, diary studies, interviews, surveys
  • Detail-oriented and ability to work independently on a variety of tasks.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, negotiation and collaboration skills
  • Can prioritize time between multiple projects, and be flexible by adapting to changing schedules and different projects
Desired

  • M.A/M.S./Ph.D. (in progress or completed) in Human Factors, Social Sciences, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Data Analysis & Visualization Computer Science, Product Design, or other field
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience. - Strong knowledge of experimental design and statistical analysis
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools, best practices, and principles
